Yeah, we should all get Chromedome35 tickets to watch the piglets lose to Aggy this year as a thank you, IMO.

AM is one of those teams I always want us to stomp (but we haven't had much luck with that lately), it's leftover from the old SWC days.

I live about 4 miles from the University, went to grad school there, both my kids went there. If you cut me, little red pigs would jump out and run around, love my hogs...it pains me to watch the football program the last few years.

This is the link to the COVID-19 tracker that I have shared on Google Drive. Chromdome's COVID-19 Daily Tracker

The source for the data is https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
The source for the testing data is from https://covidtracking.com/data/

On the tracker sheet you will see tabs for the following data:
1) US Summary
2) Country Comparables: This shows you how the US stacks up vs. select other countries dealing with COVID-19
3) Italy Summary
4) UK Summary
5) France Summary
6) Germany Summary
7) US Weighted Averages - Explores 7 day vs 3 day weight average trends
8) Predictive Model - A simple predictive model that shows where the numbers will be in the future if growth rates don't change
9) Logarithmic Comparisons - Shows the US vs the other countries on the tracker.
10) Sweden Summary

If you would like a graph created that I don't have, just ask and if it's possible I will create it for you.

Due to space constraints on the PT board, I'm only posting a few graphs in the thread, if a consensus emerges of what graphs the PT wants to see in thread without having to go to the tracker, I will gladly change them up.

I am working to create a sheet that compares the US metrics to the other countries metrics. I'll let you all know when that's done and available.

NOTE: The daily growth rate data will not be accurate until the end of the day's postings. It will change throughout the day.
NOTE: I am not tracking individual states, I don't have a reliable consistent source for that data.
NOTE: I am not a mathematician, statistics guru, scientist, sharpest tack in the box, I'm just a guy who likes to understand for myself what is happening and to share it with others. This thread was not created to debate if you should or shouldn't take this seriously, it is simply to present the numbers and foster conversation.

Taxing, I couldn't agree with you more. It's one of the most important qualities a new hire can have.

When I was leading programming teams, it was my #1 criteria. I would ask candidates what they did in the spare time, do you program for fun, etc... If they didn't, I didn't hire them.

Well. For all your hard work I’ll say Woo Pig. Just don’t tell my Razorback sister.

I created a new analysis and graph that shows the average growth rate by day of week.

We've seen that on the weekends the data gets a little crazy so I decided I would look at the numbers and see if that is actually the case.

Here you go...Saturday and Sunday are obviously lower growth rates than on the other days of the week and then it looks like they catch up on Mondays.

I just created a new graph that shows the average growth rate since we had 100 cases for each day. This shows the trend in growth rates very well. You can see it is trending down.

To calculate this, I am looking at each date and calculating the growth rate between the date of the 100th case and each day since. This gives a To Date growth rate for every day when graphed it shows the growth rate has been very constant and is trending down slightly.

This is where we will see real decline and how effectively we're being with the "lockdown".

1. Thanks for the graphs.

2. Arkansas is probably 8 or 9 win program in the Big XII. I think the environment of the SEC West is suffocating.

I know for money reasons they really only have one big time OOC opponent, but if I were them, I’d play two Big 12 teams every year.

I'm starting to think that a valuable indicator is going to be total hospitalizations. When that number peaks out, then we can feel like we have hit the midpoint.

From Louisiana today:

quote:

Yesterday, 773 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized. Of those, 270 required ventilation. Today, 927 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized. Of those, 336 require ventilation.
