And a reminder, there are many more positives and "recovered" people out there, many of whom stats may never show, while the deaths are exactly that number.

Not really, though. The "deaths" is "deaths with Wuhan", not "deaths from Wuhan", which is, by definition, going to be a smaller number.

I am on vacation until Sunday. Today the COVID Tracking Project changed their data file format and as a result the import process I created to update the tracker must be rewritten. I won't be able to do that until probably Monday 6/15. Until that time, I will update the Older US Tracker based on the WoM numbers. I will not be updating anything else other than the US tab, no other countries, states, etc...I'm on Vacation.

I think he means many areas are flattening, and many are spiking.

Time delay, as to incubation and demonstration, aren't accounted for.

Yes, I may be wrong.

Unfortunately Florida up to 2,581 positive cases and 44 deaths. 7.3% positive.

Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach make up 53% of the cases and 55% of the deaths respectively...those numbers are not that worrisome.

Why do the case numbers have that “wave cycle” to them? I understand the low numbers in Sundays, by why do they decrease all through the week? Seems like these numbers are too highly tied to the rate of testing.

Hope you had a great week. I was on vacation as well. I don't watch that much news but I am almost looking forward to going to work tomorrow to watch even less.

As the news pivots back to Covid your information is as important as ever.

We'll be home about 8pm tonight. Looking forward to fixing the new tracker. I'm also going to look at standing up a state/county level tracker. We'll see.

I've been missing the sheets on the new tracker I gotta say. Hope it's not too much work to put it back together.

Hope you had a great trip.

The new tracker is repaired and up and running again.

This is the link to the New COVID-19 tracker that I have shared on Google Drive.
If you want to view the shared sheet, follow this link New COVID-19 Tracker
If you want to download a copy of this sheet and manipulate it follow this link Downloadable New COVID-19 Tracker
The source for the data is from https://covidtracking.com/data/

Just got home, a week staring at snow-capped mountains, soaking in a hot tub and listening to nothing but the wind in the trees was very therapeutic.

I am worn out and still need to unpack. Maybe I'll start the reconstruction of the new tracker import process tonight...it may be tomorrow before it's back up.

UPDATE 1:33AM: The new tracker is fixed and back up and running.

Thanks for 233 pages of non political information. GF that reads news and listens is all worried and telling me about the dangerous spiking ...

One of your tables shows more tests and less positives...hmmmmm

Well, thanks again.

I looked at doing a state/county level tracker. There are currently 236,000 rows of data (3000+ Counties X 80ish days). Google sheets can't handle that volume of data and not slow to a crawl.

If this was all done in Excel with Access as the backend, I could pull it off fairly easily; however, that doesn't really help with an online google sheets based system.

Google has some database software called BigQuery but I haven't ever used it and I think you have to pay per GB of data, which eliminates that as an option.

For now, no county-level data until I can figure something out.

There’s no more flu deaths to hide Corona deaths under.

We’ll be under 500 again today likely.
