I think the Washington model actually predicted worse for NY than the actual current numbers. But that is definitely the hot spot for the country. We should be cancelling all flights out of NYC.

The doubling rate for deaths and cases is spiking (doubling every 2 to doubling every 5). We aren't seeing new cases like we were, and therefore the CFR is spiking. I wouldn't be shocked if we're hitting the peak right about now. Stay safe, we have maybe another month of a nightmare and then life will move on.

We’re converging on a confirmed CFR of 3%. Yes, I know it’s lower. That’s higher than I expected our confirmed rate to be.
Anyone who wouldn't be given a test if they walked into a hospital should be allowed to go back to work.

I’m really ready for the antibody test tbh.

I'm just hopign that it's specific to Covid 19 .. some doctor shared on twitter that he bought and took a test and it was positive. Who knows where he got them? He was wondering if that was for some corona in the past or covid 19.
Doesn't seem like it's much help if you can't say it's specific.

Red headed leftists reporter with typical TDS laced question. I think it was O'Donnell.

I really have strong doubts we end up well over 100k deaths with this.
I know it’s bad extrapolation but Italy has 16k known deaths as of right now. They have 1/5th our population, so 16k deaths to them is like 80k to us.
So people predicting we have 150-200k deaths think we are going to do worse per capita than Italy. Granted, they are still losing people but they are definitely on a downward trend.
I just don’t buy it. They are older, have less ICU beds, and are more densely populated. That dog won’t hunt.

I think that it depends on where you're located.

And I doubt that Italy put enough people on chloroquine.

Looking like today will hopefully have fewer new cases than yesterday. Obviously just one day and I know sundays may not be the most accurate, but it’s worth mentioning no other Sunday on the spreadsheet has fewer cases than the Saturday before it.
I’d bet Monday is larger than Saturday or Sunday, but I take today as another positive sign that the rate of growth is consistently slowing.

I wish our boy would update this. I know he’s got a life and I appreciate what he’s done. Just thinking it’s getting close to peaking.

We probably drove him to drink lol. I hope he’s enjoying some family time.

Only 218 deaths in NYC today from Covid19.
BUT
There is a major problem in NYC if you don't look close enough at the details of the data. ositive trends are nice and all, but there is one ugly trend that shows no end in sight for NYC and it's preggy damn ugly.
NYC is averaging between 200 to 300 NEW patients that need to be intubated DAILY.
What makes me scratch my head is, how can NYC have this daily intubated problem but no other metro area has this same problem?
Queens has already seen about 2% of their population already infected with COVID19 for confirmed cases.

Might be ugly but Univ of Wash models had it exponentially worst than where it is now and that’s a positive.

I expect NYC to pass the 4,000 death mark this week. Their numbers today for death don't make sense. They underreported, IMO, for some reason. Tomorrow it will be closer to 1,000 deaths.

This is the link to the COVID-19 Country tracker that I have shared on Google Drive. Chromdome's COVID-19 Daily Tracker
This is the link to the US state level tracker that I have shared via Google Drive. Chromdome's State Level COVID-19 Daily Tracker
On the state level tracker the states I have available right now are listed below. I will be adding additional states in the coming days.
Arkansas, Louisiana, New York, Georgia, Florida, California
The source for the data is https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
The source for the testing data is from https://covidtracking.com/data/
On the tracker sheet you will see tabs for the following data:
1) US Summary
2) Country Comparables: This shows you how the US stacks up vs. select other countries dealing with COVID-19
3) Logarithmic Comparisons - Shows the US vs the other countries on the tracker.
4) Covid Vs Other Outbreaks - Compares the current COVID numbers to the last 10 years of flue and H1N1
5) US Weighted Averages - Explores 7 day vs 3 day weight average trends
6) Italy Summary
7) UK Summary
8) France Summary
9) Germany Summary
10) Sweden Summary
11) World Summary
NOTE: The daily growth rate data will not be accurate until the end of the day's postings. It will change throughout the day.
NOTE: I am not tracking individual states, I don't have a reliable consistent source for that data.
NOTE: I am not a mathematician, statistics guru, scientist, sharpest tack in the box, I'm just a guy who likes to understand for myself what is happening and to share it with others. This thread was not created to debate if you should or shouldn't take this seriously, it is simply to present the numbers and foster conversation.
NOTE: I have added a prediction number to the bottom of the data grid. This simply takes the previous days numbers and grows them at the previous day's growth rate. It should give the viewer some idea of what the numbers will look like today. Obviously, the final number for the day will be higher or lower based on what today's growth rate actualy is. This is just a simple indicator.
