Good, dumb a-hole will have this sent to Federal circuit where it will be struck down as a violation of the PLCAA. That will discourage any other LWNJ-run states from trying it themselves.

Would be real interested to hear the legal argument as to what business practices can be linked to a shooting. It’s not like gun manufacturers advertise or endorse their products in mass media like tobacco did.

Tortured interpretations involving the concepts of negligent entrustment and public nuisance with regards to firearms. Cuomo has a long history of attempting to sue firearms manufacturers and retailers out of existence using frivolous lawsuits. He even admitted this was a stated goal during the Clinton years, the PLCAA was passed largely because of shitheads like him.

This should be the unified response from the entire gun and ammunition industry: Immediately suspend all government sales for any further contracts within the State Of New York. Yes- that would include police departments. Follow that up with trickling down ANY sales to distributors there. Why allow them to get away with this?
They are actively trying to bankrupt an entire industry by allowing individual people to sue over CRIMINAL MISUSE of their products.
