Apparently I'm not the only poster who doesn't know the answer to my question...
EDIT: I'm trying to envisage what I would have thought if I had been at the rally a couple of hours before the POTUS was due to speak and I looked up and saw a drone flying near the venue.
I probably wouldn't have given it a second thought just assuming either, 1) the Trump campaign was recording some footage of the crowd for a campaign promo later, or 2) one of the TV networks wanted footage of the event to show the size of the crowd as part of its event coverage.
