Newsom or Shapiro
Shapiro is probably the safer pick. Newsom is too far left with a terrible track record. Shapiro is a little more centrist and been an ok governor in a swing state

The Democratic base voters are unhinged. Even with Trump off the ticket in 2028 he will still be the central figure in the election. So the nominee has to spout off some insane shite to get the nomination.
It is not a serious party at all, and it cannot be one for at least the next 4 years, the party itself is lunatic.

Seems like if they pick guys like Shapiro or Beshear, they risk lower voter turnout by their lunatic base and blacks. I guess the flip side of that is they might could swing some moderates back over to vote Dem.

Haha. Such Hipocracy. When i was growing up, in the 60’s and 70’s (I know I’m old) we were told to not refer to black guys as “boys” as it was insulting to them. I guess that does not apply to whites. The use of “white boys” appears to be acceptable now. Blacks have used up their bank of sympathy for past sins against them and pushed me, for one, into the category of not really caring anymore about their plight. And believe me, I was way more sympathetic to their situation than most. When they start losing people like me, they are in trouble.

Their voters definitely don't. But, the mainstreamers (who actually run the party -- not the loons or the black caucus) want power and will do anything to get there.
