Cime in DC is a hell of a lot better than it was in the 80's and 90's......It led the nation as the murder capital there for a few years. It has ghetto a.f. parts like Anacostia and the hoods next to Capital Hill

Much of this is simple demographics. Violent criminals tend to be young men, and even more, tend to be black young men. Our nation is aging, and as the percentage of young people goes down, so too will the violent crime. And DC used to be a majority black town; it’s not anymore. As its population of young black people is replaced by older white people there has been a natural reduction of violent crime. And they are cheating by fudging numbers.

Thank you for posting this.

Common sense says that people will not report crimes if it is evident that no charges will be filed.

Similar in some ways to Chattanooga not sending cops to investigate fender benders.

26 per 100,000 residents

But to be fair, if you remove Hillary and Obama from the equation, it drops down to about 20 per 100k

But some homeless residents in a camp nearby said they are worried by what they described as Trump’s threat to displace them

quote:

“I’m definitely afraid that he could do whatever he wants to do, but I can’t live my life in fear,” said Greg Evans, age 38, who has lived in a small homeless encampment near the Lincoln Memorial for several months. Evans said he has struggled for years with addiction and other health problems. He told NPR he thinks most Americans want the federal government to help poor people and others who are struggling. “I see plenty of compassion,” he said. “There’s plenty of compassionate people out there

Poor homeless man is confused why Trump wants his degenerate arse out of the capital. He thinks the country wants to keep giving him freebies

What value does a 38 year old homeless man living on charity and leaving shite everywhere, harassing for donations, provide to society?

They turn public parks into drugged up nutter camp sites

I remember a few years ago when New Orleans hit a 40 year low in its homicide rate... Which the libs and city leaders were publicly celebrating... But New Orleans was still ranked the #4 worst city in the U.S. for murders that same year. In fact, NOLA was #4, Baton Rouge was #5 and Shreveport was #7.

Thank You for the DU, Daily Kos, DNC daily talking point.

Shockingly, every left wing social media influencer knew to post the exact same message.

If they are murders, sure. Not "OD's" though.

DC has been a hell ridden cesspool since forever.

Micromanaging the stats over a few years won't ever change that.

They would not count someone who was shot and died at a hospital. They only counted people who died on the streets. That makes absolutely no sense.

And, as has been pointed out, it's REALLY hard to cover up a murder, let alone dozens of them every year.
Let alone the HUNDREDS LESS ANNUALLY DC has now vs 30 years ago.
