I met the original Cracker Barrel CEO (and Founder) Dan Evins back in 2004. What Cracker Barrel was and what it has become started in 2001, when he was forced out of the CEO role (but was able to remain Chairman of the Board).

I ate at the Statesboro, Ga location last Sunday. Last Sunday evening, this was my critique.
Grits are not soup. Nor were they ever intended to be.
The sausage gravy had no sausage.
The bacon was raw
The steak was over cooked.
The only highlight was the “basket of biscuits” and a super waitress.
Within hours, I received a $20 gift certificate, to be used anywhere in the store.
The combination breakfasts menu has changed. No longer the same combinations. Old Timer’s is not Old Timers anymore.

I only stated what has happened. CB’s quality decline precedes her and was never going to be fixed by remodeling. They need to get back to their scratch biscuits and slow cooked roast beef. Once their restaurants got saturated they lowered quality to keep earnings going.
