COVID is Back in Places Where It Had Vanished

Places like Australia, Hong Kong, and Japan, all places that were praised for their decisive, early action. No matter you say Trump should have or should not have done, it wasn’t going away.
From the WSJ.
Quote:
Australia reported only a handful of new coronavirus cases in early June, while Hong Kong went three weeks without a single locally transmitted infection that month. Japan had already lifted a state of emergency in May after the number of new cases dropped to a few dozen nationwide.
All three reported new high-water marks in daily infection numbers in the past week, showing how difficult it can be to keep the virus at bay, even in places lauded for taking early and decisive action.

I'm not subscribing to read the full story but did they ever open up? I truly don't know. And masks are required or no?
I mean a virus doesn't just disappear. Especially if they're just opening things up now, it will go back up.

But Karen said if we all wear masks the virus dies

People are retarded if they thought it was gone. And blaming trump is just as retarded.

France and Spain are also seeing a big spike in new cases

I actually watched Australia’s 60- minutes show this morning. They had a younger epidemiologist saying open up and let things happen. There will be collateral damage no matter what we do. The two older doctors were saying the loss of one life was too much.
Seems like everyone is facing the same choices but no one wants to bite the bullet.

Skyrocket? Shut it down now!

For people who understand viruses, this should be no surprise. For the blame Trump crowd, they are baffled.

Locking everything down will just make COVID-19 last longer. Just let it run it’s course . I look forward to all of the liberals declining a Covid-19 Vaccine that has Covid-19 in it like some of the other vaccines.

At this point I question if even the CDC does

Read an article a bit ago... Sounds like HK, Japan, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Australia all trending towards lock downs.
Going to be interesting when US has herd immunity and the rest of the world is still scrambling to stop it. Lockdowns do nothing but drag it out.

I know all these places aren’t accepting visitors from the US right about now, but we need to think about keeping our people from leaving since we have so many more cases than the rest of the world... we’re the ones who will make it a worldwide pandemic again

I get tired of this childish "the loss of one life was too much" justification for masks, social distancing, shutdowns, etc. It's fear mongering BS. There is risk to life in many things we all do daily. It's part of life.
