Never actually got into st Petersburg proper but Kazan and Omsk were both wonderful and had tons of culture and good food, etc. Moscow is actually one of my favorite cities in Eurasia.

Pointing out that you’ve bought into this narrative that a bunch of 50 year old conscripts subsiding on a potato a day aren’t going to win a war isn’t “lashing out” no matter how badly you want it to be. But then again, you aren’t known for living in reality.

That's my understanding and why entangling paramilitary and actual military is historically the perfect recipe for a coup.
