Could Texas build a wall ?

In theory, couldn’t they build a wall to protect their state ? Build it 100 yards on to Texas land. So technically they could enter the US but couldn’t enter Texas ??

Yes. The constitution dictates that states govern themselves. They won’t get any federal funding to do it, but they absolutely can.

I think it’s possible but the costs and resistance from landowners would be a significant barrier.

Don’t need a wall. The gov should allow the immediate deputization of volunteers to watch the border. He would get a ton of folks to sign up.

Since that would be difficult to do along the Red River border with Oklahoma, I say we Okies pitch in and wall off around our borders and leave Texas border with us open. Yeah, we'd cut off access from Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas, but we'd effectively lock out NM and CO.

I think we have to follow the process set forth in the law for allowing people into the country. Otherwise, you can’t be sure if you’re letting in destructive people along with the constructive ones.
