Costco’s mask policy

So I walked into Costco this morning and was handed a mask. I took it, stuck into my back pocket, and went about my business while breathing unobstructed oxygen like a healthy human being should. Nobody said shite.
Meanwhile, I saw 2 or 3 people with the things below their noses, one person with it around their neck, and several more constantly touching and pulling on the damn things. Nothing but theater used to condition the masses. A damn joke.

Did you feel cool?
I personally think mask policies are stupid af. That said, I'm also a free enterprise capitalist that recognizes that private businesses can enact what they want. You're not entitled to shop at Costco. For the same reasons I believe a Christian business owner can refuse service if it would violate his beliefs, I believe other businesses can regulate who can shop at their stores. Don't like it, don't shop there. Simple.

Your personal attack seems misguided. Where did the OP say Costco had no right to have such a policy?
I have similar thoughts to the OP and you but I won't wear a mask at costco. If they force me to wear a mask I will find another place to shop until the policy changes. People can respect a company's stance without agreeing with it.

Public service announcement: all you have to do is tell them that you have a breathing condition that prevents you from being able to safely while wearing a mask. Problem solved.

Woah, we actually agreed on something.

Went to Costco the day before they implemented that policy and the selection was terrible. Won’t go back as it wasn’t fun. Costco blogs agree as well

Why do people shop at Costco and Sam's? I admire Costco's business model but seriously the price of admission and the crowd just makes it a no go for me. My wife buys gas at Costco...saves about 3 cents a gallon with a 16 gallon tank...48 cents. Spends about 15-20 minutes each time. She makes a little over $70 an hour not including bennies...so she could save 10 - 15 minutes and pay 48 cents more and it would mean she would have cost her about 17 seconds at work LOL. That equates to about 10 more hours a year wasted or, if she were being paid, $700+. She will also drive past 7-8 stations on an interstate exit to save a penny a gallon. Even in the motorhome with a 60 gallon tank that is only 60 cents LOL and the fuel burn to pass them is probably greater than the savings at 4.5 MPG.

Our gym is evolving in an unofficial capacity. You have to have a mask to get in (and take your temp). At first lifters started pulling them down to breathe. Staff said nothing. Now lifters just take them off and staff says nothing.

Costco was dead to me after they discontinued free samples.

god damn.....no one gives a shite.
It really baffles me that people who make posts like this have the cognitive ability to breath in the first place.

Quality and price at costco are superior. I presume Sam's is the same.
They require higher product standards than a typical retailer (walmart is infamous for beating suppliers up on costs which shortchange the quality. Costco beats up the suppliers on quality).
And Costco doesn't charge the regular markup as a typical retailer.
As you said, the cost of membership is the difference. 100% of operating costs are covered through membership fees. So there isnt a need to gauge on the markup. Costco also has one of the most liberal return policies in the country. Again, a benefit of the membership fee.
For full disclosure, our family gets back about $1000 in rebates for using the costco credit card a year. Needless to say, the membership renewals aren't much of a concern. We were sold originally on the return policy. But we were impressed with the quality of food ever since.

Pretty sure that's what the $60 membership fee is for.

You also consented to their policies and any changes made to them when you became a member too.
