Why didn't you make a thread in 2022 or 2023 voicing your concern about diesel prices?
Because diesel wasn’t this high. It’s at all time high prices and you act like we shouldn’t discuss it

Every time someone makes a doom and gloom thread about fuel prices, Pablo Escobar gets melancholy.

My chart is literally adjusted for inflation and shows it was $7 in OH in 2022 when adjusted
The OP is about diesel in OH currently being $7 per gallon

Obviously nobody likes it but rates have skyrocketed along with fuel surcharges which are at heights never seen before. Profit margins for independents or large companies are not much different than any other time after fuel is taken into account

The trucker you talked with has a lot more to be worried about than the cost of diesel fuel. The price of diesel will eventually drop but there is a real possibility in the next 5-10 years a large number of trucking jobs will be eliminated due to a fully automated logistics network, where trucks have no driver, where workers needed in a warehouse are 10% of what was required just 5 years ago. I don't see any way this isn't coming sooner rather than later.

Irrelevant. That’s a MAGA coping mechanism. Trump was elected to lower the cost of living from Biden era. He’s failed. If you brought someone out of a coma from 2023 they would tell you Biden or Kamala were in office judging by gasoline and groceries. No amount of mental gymnastics or excuses will change what is actually happening right now.

Exxon’s key refinery in Joliet, Illinois, produces gasoline and diesel fuel. The facility handles 275,000 barrels of crude per day, producing about 11 million gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel every day. {SOURCE}
The refinery operation has been offline for a week following a power disruption “found on ComEd’s primary and secondary power lines feeding into the Joliet refinery.” The company made the statement on Thursday, adding that power to the refinery was fully restored. However, with the power turned off floodwater overwhelmed a pumping station leading to flooding around the refinery which has compounded the outage.
The timing of this; the type of problem, together with the location (40 miles southwest of Chicago, Ill, near the intersection of Interstate 55 and the DesPlaines River) are aligned datapoints in a review of the consequence. Given the nature of geopolitics right now and the intention to politically weaponize the price of gasoline and diesel, everything just looks too coincidental.

You're an idiot
FYI, I have been critical about Trumps 2.0's economy due to the war, so I am not defending him at all. I know you have seen me call it out because you have posted in the threads so don't try to say it is me coping or defending.
I am just pointing out how liberals like Buckl were quiet all 4 years when Biden was in office, and diesel cost just as much as it does now when adjusted, but suddenly they have random truck drivers crying to them.

The people who complained about fuel prices then and blamed the president, now do not want to hear complaints nor criticism of the current administration. Perhaps both sides are right but it is as always, the people who pay for it.

Plenty of people on here complained about gasoline, grocery, inflation, mortgage rates etc under Biden.
What you seem to be having a hard time understanding is Trump was elected to fix all that and in some metrics he’s worse than Biden. Think about that. Also, Diesel fuel isn’t coming down it’s expected to hit $7 national average as soon as two weeks. Gasoline isn’t coming down and in 8 weeks Trump will have a national average higher than all of Biden term. How will you spin that? It’s inexcusable. Its failure.

I bet if Trump renamed diesel as "Freedom Fuel" that would probably help.

Actually genius. I can actually see this happening.

People are too stupid to understand the conflict in Iran will not last forever and prices will come down, probably to lower levels than we’ve seen in a few decades.
The conflict in Ukraine has more to do with diesel prices than Iran.

He should learn to code or get a data center job
Posted on 9/19/26 at 2:37 pm to BuckI
Did he discuss his pay raise that he received since illegals are getting booted? Probably not because then it would make him look stupid for bitching about gas prices
All truck drivers have received massive pay increases over the past several months
Funny how he forgot to mention that to you during his doom and gloom rant

It will.
Diesel prices are largely unrelated to Iran or anything Trump has done.

He voted for Trump all 3 times. I doubt he would a 4th time if there were no term limits.
