that's not what CT people do.
I’m denying that “CT people” are a monolith.
quote:
With CTs people start with the a priori premise that whatever it turns out to be, the mainstream narrative can't be trusted, and then spend their time and bandwidth looking for any ways they can to support that premise.
This describes the bulk of posters and threads here. We all fall into this trap. We all approach every topic with our preconceived “truths” and proceed as if our respective schemas are comprehensive and correct.

But try to get one of the CT subscribers to even consider that maybe that guy actually did it and see how flexible their thinking is.
It seems that (generally speaking) humans are not flexible thinkers. This isn’t a CT people thing. It’s a People thing.

Righties do believe in a lot of weird conspiracy theories.
But leftists think you can chop your dick off and become a girl.
So if I have to pick a side it’ll be the one that thinks Covid was created in a lab over the self mutilating psychos.

Zero meltdown. Weird that you would claim as such. I’m just not playing. It’s a five-year-old story that everyone has pretty much known since day one.
But keep believing the official word on Covid not coming from a Wuhan lab or the 51 Intel experts all agree that Hunter’s laptop was Russian tradecraft, or that Joe’s secret document stash in his garage isn’t a worse crime than Trump, who was president, keeping files under lock and key with secret service security and known by the national archives.

I appreciate your sociological approach to this, albeit cynical.
MR explains human behavior in general, not just CT people’s behavior. We all use our intellect to reach a desired conclusion that best serves a non-accuracy goal (like protecting your identity, maintaining self-esteem, or, in this context, fitting in with a group). Like I mentioned earlier, that’s what the bulk of posters here do. The social payoff is upvotes, I suppose.
CT people are merely looking for a tribe or belonging? This applies to most people. Aren’t humans all wandering around looking for connection, respect and affirmations? The explanations for CT people offered in this thread describe universal human mechanisms, not specialized pathologies.

Stolen election people? Same thing, from Hillary Russia Gate to Stop the Steal, to the current Kamala won insanity, they open their mouth not because they are right, but to get attention from those in their circle they want to connect to.

The Steele dossier?
Fake operation research creation by British agent using Russian disinformation.
Paid for by the DNC and the Hillary campaign.
Hand-delivered by John McCain‘s personal aid to the DOJ.
Used by the FISA court to issue 4 illegal warrants, despite the fact that it was unvetted. Something we were told could & would never happened.
You just deep sixed your own point.

Sure looked like you were trying to argue that they were creative and flexible. As a monolith.

Yeah. I say that daily here.

We all fall into this trap.
That sounds like a monolith to me. And the syllogism would look like this:
1. People are generally not flexible thinkers
2. CT people are people
3. Therefore, CT people are not generally flexible thinkers

sounds like a lot of illegal actions. surely, since according to you there's so much obvious illegal activity going on, someone would be held accountable.
and yet no. i wonder why? a deep state conspiracy that has tentacles across the globe? or made up bullshite that appeals to rubes?
you decide!

Thus the overt corruption for all to see.
And yet you choose to keep your eyes closed.

Do conspiracy theories get removed from the conspiracy list after they have been proven true?
I better stat would be, dims are more likely to believe lies they are told.

Liberal news outlets more likely to label everything outside their narrative a conspiracy theory
Fixed it for them

You’re the worst.
Can’t get away with anything.

In summation, CT people (as a monolith?) are just deeply embedded in a different, strongly fortified box than the majority.

Liberals are more likely to believe gaslighting so I guess we're even?

Because it's not.
Unless you think the left wing Men can be Women is also a pathology.

Yep. Mental illness.
I'm cynical, I think perfectly rational people can be completely irrational if the rewards are there.
Perfectly reasonable doctors who just want to get back to their golf game will tell you whatever it takes to not upset their life.
Congress people will declare themselves for or against the current thing.
Because that's the reward.

FBI had 270 + 'assets' on the ground at J6, after Wray testified there were none.
Barack Obama had Trump Towers monitored by electronic surveillance, when THE WORLD mocked Trump & called him a paranoid crack pot. Trump was right.
you ignore all of it because it relieves you of any uncomfortable thoughts.
"Well, even if it were true, they only did it because Trump was super duper bad " is how you'd justify it. Because that's the script some have been given already.
