They aren't going to impeach Trump because congress ousting a president during an election year would have huge consequences. This whole secret hearing thing is a clown show. The entire thing has turned into the Jerry Springer Show. Some of these people are 60 and 70 years old and are acting like kids.

I believe at this point they don’t even want to impeach him. It’s all about keeping it going to use against him in the next election

Honestly at this part it is hard to envision the House not impeaching him. It's going to happen, and they will get 2 or 3 republicans to vote for it and declare it bipartisan. It will be a political impeachment with no factual criminal backing.

What happens in the Senate will be a different story.

I'll be shocked if the House doesn't pass articles of impeachment before Christmas.

It's all the left has to go against Trump. They have no real policy or sane ideas for our country.

Proposing a border wall around Colorado is embarrassing.

The talking heads on tv claim they have the votes to impeach him. True there are enough dems to do it. But would the red state dems vote to impeach with all of them up for reelection in 2020? Would any them really sacrifice themselves for it, knowing that Trump still has a better chance of getting struck by lightning than the republican controlled Senate remove him with a 2/3 vote?

Note of info: there were 57 Democratic contests in the nominating process in 2008. That was the 57 to which Obama was referring when he mis-stated the word "states" for contests. Texas had TWO (a primary then caucuses) and the territories had ones.

Pelosi and Schiff should be arrested for what they are doing. They have to be breaking some laws. If what they are doing is NOT illegal, then they need to pass some laws that make this nonsense illegal.

2019. Why do I care about a candidate I didn’t vote for in 2008? Keep the focus on your “brilliant” (lol) President.

Red State Dems will vote to impeach if they think there's enough evidence to warrant a trial. That's all an impeachment vote is really.

Think about US Rep Cedric Richmond. He is a Dem in a red State. Voting to impeach will be easy for him as his district probably wants him to vote that way.

I think there will be 4-5 Dems who either vote NO or abstain along with 10-15 Repubs who vote YES or abstain.

Hahahahaha

Your entire slate of candidates is embarrassing. Does the entire collection of them have a single idea worth pursuing?

How come you assholes never want to talk about that?

Now deflect to some other trivial nonsense

Why do you call it a "secret hearing thing"?? It is supposed to be non-public. Grand Juries are not public "things". Prosecutors meeting with witnesses or potential witnesses regarding a possible crime being committed - before going forward with a public trial - in order to determine if the evidence warrants even progressing forward with a trial, are not performed in public.

When the Select Committee investigating the Benghazi attack held multiple closed-door meetings back in 2015, I'm sure Repubs didn't have any issue with that. In fact, much of what is taking place now, is simply following the blueprint that the Republican Congress engineered during much of the Obama Administration.

You can't run roughshod over how America is governed, and then complain when the exact same thing is done right back at you....

they need 2/3 Senate vote and 5 Dems absolutely must recuse if it is before the DNC primary as it is a conflict of interest for a candidate to vote to remove another candidate.

Now after the primary it could be 1 or 0 recusals however. Still, not much easier as the time constraints make it easy for re pubs to simply then run out the clock see Trump re-elected thus negating impeachment altogether.

Must they recuse? What if they dropped out of the campaign to vote then later started it back up?

There were Dems on that committee...dipshite. How many Republicans are even allowed to sit in on this shiteshow?

quote:

Aides for Boehner and Pelosi engaged in discussions over how the committee would operate, points of contention being shared authority to issue subpoenas, interview witnesses, and determine what can be released to the public. When she finally made the decision that her party would participate in the committee investigation, Pelosi acknowledged: "I could have argued this either way. Why give any validity to this effort?"
