Rispone was an absolutely horrid candidate. In a normal world, there’s no way someone that terrible gets so close to that office. That said, he was still many times over better than the disaster currently in it.

Trump absolutely helped drive up turnout with those rallies.
Problem was that Rispone and his consultants were so deluded enough to think that was enough to win and just acted like he was leading and trying to run the clock out all month long leading up to the runoff and there was no way JBE could provide enough pizza and fried chicken in Nola and North BR to win.
When in reality it was a starting base and Rispone had to take care of the rest.
He didn't and just hid.

Louisiana deserved and needed so much better than the dogshit campaign Rispone put out.
It was an absolute tragedy and a missed opportunity as JBE should've lost that race.

Because the University of South Carolina is a dumpster fire right now. We had the nastiest President's search in SEC history recently, which resulted in a close vote to appoint our current President. This was after our governor forced the vote, given that we had spent $250k on a consulting firm to narrow the choices down to multiple finalists. This vote has essentially split our leadership into two factions, largely based on whether or not they support Governor McMaster. This spat recently led to the pro-McMaster faction intentionally (in my opinion) snubbing our largest donor by failing to issue a condolence on the death of her mother (our archival Clemson did issue one). The donor went public with the snub and stated giving us money was one of the worst decisions of her life.

I quit donating to the University when they changed the policy of allowing alumni kids to come back and not pay out of state tuition. My oldest starts college in TX next year, and my other two likely will also.

Newsflash: not everyone is either a democrat or republican. You replaced Ralph, a proven conservative, because he doubted the great and powerful Trump.
Eddie, on the other hand, had only his claimed love of Trump as his conservative street cred. In actual practice, he helped bring the not very conservative Common Core program to LA. And it wasn't even because he thought it would be good for kids. It was to line his and his puppet master Lane Grigsby's pockets.
Stupid motherfrickers. And I'm going to watch them do this shite over and over again. They can't help themselves.

One conclusion I've come to over the last several years is that if all you have to talk about or wants to talk about is Donald Trump whether it be positive or negative, you really have nothing to offer in the first place.
That held true with Rispone and we saw the results of that.
