I will say this...

This rebel group has nowhere near what Saddam had in terms of weapons.

I'm not for a long term war/never ending conflicts. But they could be wiped out fast. Let the companies use hired guns after that.

How does 24 trillion worth of minerals translate to us? I mean, does that mean we have 24 trillion $? All at once or over how long? I’d normally not be in this at all but damn that’s a lot. Maybe we can do like we did with the Kurds, train troops, air strikes, intelligence, and small weapons? Or is Congo military that bad and that wouldn’t be enough?

I say do it, but it has to be a volunteer force, and they get a percentage for themselves and family.

This is a hail mary by the DRC. They are losing this war to the rebels backed by Rwanda. The DRC is so corrupt, incompetent, and repressive that they’re actively being conquered by a country whom they outnumber 7:1.

We've been spending billions fighting those crafty Muslims for decades. Low IQ Congolese terrorists would be easy practice.

What could go wrong?
Not just a "foreign country", an African country.
Here's what we do ...

We invade and quickly get control. Then we train some native sepoy troops to "control" the populace for us.

It's worked before, right?

The jungles of the Congo basin make Vietnam rain forests look like a pleasant little glade in Merry Olde England.

This could be a way to bring real civilization to sub saharan Africa. - if not us, then China, or some muslim consortium, or a European communist influence.

Could be the way to save the world.

You can get messy in Africa. Nobody gives a shite. The Chinese have been raping them for years so they wouldn't even notice.
