I'm a 29 year veteran of America's armed forces, mostly in the reserve component (USAR and LAARNG) - and I'm still curious as to why the District of Columbia even has a national guard.

Be aware, the story of discovering the gun and ammo cache is from Jan 4th, so any connection to the inaug. is speculative at best.
