No, but there's no program in the country that can match LSU's clarity about who is running things.

He's also pushing Carbon Capture and Sequestration (including approval for eminent domain for carbon projects) and the data center boom behind closed doors.

Landry is pro carbon capture. The same thing that he's been riding Fleming for.

eta: Another aspect of his term so far is how Landry has done more than any governor since Edwards to consolidate power in the executive branch. He's had his people push legislation giving him extra appointees on just about every board and commission across the state.

Pretty pitiful that the first three "accomplishments" of the Governor that come to mind are "his" coaching hires.

We couldn’t be that lucky. Plus where will the revenue lost from the inventory tax come from.

Landry has a problem with Washington DC now over his race based idea to create a snake of a district that has been described by the Supreme Court as laughable. It’s blowing up in his face and our elections for the Representatives seat of all Representative running our State is jacked up because of his political grab He was told and advised by many that this was not going to fly and it was a political move he decided to go with Cleo Fields on to gain his support in his next election. Cleo Fields was put to bed and brought back to life by Landry. He was were he needed to be and although Inhave forgotten details of his corruption Cleo was of the same political class as Edwards and Jefferson. Now every poll commissioner in this state will have to deal with a mad electorate who will not understand the race being on their ballot and likely votable without an official count. I’m glad it’s off but what a mess as the Represetatives terms end this year, maps have to be redrawn, candidates who have already spent a bundle will have to spend more and hope that they are running in the same districts as they are redrawn then requalify against additional candidates and the expense of additional election dates. I believe if the people truly learn that this was Landry’s boondoggle along with his handling of Insurance in our State, running with the trial lawyers association like a true liberal and so many other political grabs by him that another Republican like Garret Graves or Tim Temple would beat him. Especially if backed by our President who knows of Landry’s deal with Cleo Fields.

This sums it up. And you’ve never met a more petty, vindictive, egotistical, little man.

the insurance companies (which are EXTREMELY greedy)

They are not “extremely greedy”. They are similarly greedy as all other companies are. They face similar competition and free market incentives and pressures. And they are the same companies that other states have, and those states do not have these extreme problems. Therefore, it is NOT the insurance companies.

Everyone knows what the problem is - that we have a very large minority of our population that are social pariahs and engage in insurance fraud as a standard way of life.

I mean it's great if you're an LSU fan. What is his big accomplishment for the actual people of Louisiana though? Getting the 10 commandments in classrooms? One of his first actions was siding with trial attorneys and torpedoing decades overdue tort reform that had finally picked up some steam.

Morons voted down the tax change last year. It was the start of moving us towards a state like Florida

The fact that people still believe the insurance companies will change just because the state becomes less plaintiff attorney friendly is ridiculous. There actually has been major tort reform under the Landry administration more so than under any other governor and have rates gone down for anyone not a bit. But by all means keep chasing that boogie man
“Major tort reform”? No. Landry took a small step in the right direction when what we needed was a giant leap. I think that Landry and the trial lawyers got together and did the smallest reform that would act as pressure relief and get them another eight years of tort gold rush.

The reforms that were put in place probably slowed the increase in premiums but were not substantial enough to reverse them.

The same insurance companies offer lower rates in neighboring states. Why? Also, we are having trouble getting insurance companies to operate in Louisiana. Don’t you see that this fatally undermines your position that insurance companies are profiteering?

Jeff is a personal friend. He is a deep Christian and a conservative. If you are a Christian and have a solid faith, know that he is with you.
Sure, he has to make deals or concessions to lawyer, insurance, doctor etc lobbies that have tremendous leverage in the state.

He's working hard to grab every inch he can to get us moving towards more of a FL or TX type economy/tax setup.

Louisiana is not in great shape, as we know. It will take time for real changes to implement.

Republicans need to vote! Every vote no matter when or how small. Last year he tried to get some tax changes done, but was voted down. Dems rallied and got the votes needed, instead every way possible. Republican turnout was horrible.
