CSU lists both “American” and “America” as non-inclusive words "to avoid," due to the fact that America encompasses more than just the U.S. By referring to the U.S. as America, the guide claims that one “erases other cultures and depicts the United States as the dominant American country.” The school suggests using “U.S. citizen” or “person from the U.S.” as substitutes.
Uh...No!
When are college aged kids going to figure out they don't have to GAF about what the college says? Take the courses, pass, get a job and forget about the college except unless they like the football team.

I'll go ahead and list CSU as a leader in the seperstist movement. We should dispatch a Jedi to deal with them immediately.

Will South America still be referred to as South America? Or South United Country’s of Origins?

That is the dumbest list I’ve ever seen.
Homosexual is bad
Queer is good

Which other country in the Americas is more dominant that the United States of America?

Such a stupid, stupid comment.
The words that people use in class at Colorado State University have ZERO impact on any culture, people, nation, or nationality anywhere on earth.
People in the United States using ‘America’ to refer to the United States is a direct reflection of the facts that our country’s title actually includes the word ‘America’ (which no other nation does) and that we were established first.
We were also the only geopolitically relevant nation state in the Western Hemisphere from our founding until the emergence of the major South American oil states in the mid-20th century.
It’s actually really easy to understand and not complicated, controversial or offensive unless you either: a) just want it to be; or b) lack common sense

Lol at that table
I wonder if Colorado State is aware that India is a country and that Indians live there
Eta: semi-related question— do SJW’s who speak Latin languages absolutely lose their minds about having a gendered lexicon/vocab/words? How do they survive day to day life?

Wow. I thought you were doing a parody. That was real.
I like how they cited Spanish. They should look up what norteamericano means.
And "Paddy" is so offensive to the Irish that many Irish priests use it as a nickname.

I am offended by Europeans using “the States” to refer to the US. Mexico’s official title is the United Mexican States so by using the words “United” and “States” we are robbing Mexico of their entire nation and national identity.
It also ruins the entirety of the history of the Netherlands because they once had “United” in the name for the seven provinces.
The United States of America can only be referred to henceforth as “the place”. But don’t capitalize ‘place’ because it could ruin the history of every public square in France.

So, instead of singing “I’m proud to be an American”” we are supposed to say” I’m proud to be a United Statesian”? Yeah, frick that CSU. I’m proud to be an American. If you’re not fricking leave.

Nope, that’s anti-semitic towards Mexico. You have destroyed an entire civilization by even putting forth such obvious bigotry.

This is one of the best examples of looking to be offended. There is no way they knew most of this stuff without actively trying to find offensive origins to words/phrases.

Will Major League Baseball be divided into the National League and the United Statesian League ?

Don't give them any ideas. They'll rewrite all patriotic songs to be meandering paeons of inclusive, non-offensive, morally relativistic, indoctrinating brain mush.

Viva Venezuela!
This is the old hipster European argument that said: "you Americans are so arrogant, you call yourself America and Americans when the Americas is all of North and South America."
What a lame-arse thing to get in a tizzy over.
Idiots nit-pick everything American.
"You call yourself World Champions in football but you only play yourselves!"
(yeah, name me a team in the world that would beat the Super Bowl champions.)
