I can but I won't. I dealt with them through a previous job and it would be unethical for me to name them.
How convenient. What type of job would that have been?

The budget was in the church bulletin every week. It was no secret.

Public accounting. Boss was very active in the religious community and a lot of churches came to him for preparation of financials, tax returns, etc.

Seriously? These Churches did absolutely nothing for the poor or their poor parishioners? I have never been associated with a Church like that. What denomination were these Churches?

Do we have to go any further in this debate to not implement this nationwide? It is staggering to me that people are against giving birth control to the poor or even teenagers. They're going to be fricking anyway, so why not make sure they're prepared. I know that your religious beliefs say no sex before marriage, but let's look at the birth rates and crime rates, and then look how the correlate.

The birth control is mere pennies compared to the Benjamins we are going to have to be throwing down at these unwanted kids once they are born. Think of the people who do crimes? Is it kids from middle class families with two parents together in their lives that try to make sure their children get an education? 99 times out of 100, no. It's unwanted kids, from broken families, from poor backgrounds, they've been physically/sexually abused, their parents don't focus on their education, and then when they become young adults, they're totally screwed and turn to crime.

I don't like abortion. I wish we could do away with it in many regards, and birth control is the answer. These kids should typically have never been conceived, nevertheless born. And the results in a lower abortion rate I think is proof that giving out birth control works.

Now onto read the thread.

Its cheap enough to probably be cost effective.

I strongly encourage all states to do this.

Why do I have to pay for abortion and long term care? Why do I have to fricking pay for other peoples life decisions?

Because if you're a tax paying citizen, you're going to pay for it in one way or the other. Not in the form of birth control, no that's nothing compared to what you'll be paying for in 15-20 years from now. The cops, the court appointed attorneys, judges, prisons, security guards, feeding these people for 40K a year, and 300 million total if a guy decides to take pliers to about 40 teenagers and we put him on death row.

And speaking of the Ted Bundies of the world, who is the type of person who goes out and kills your children? I don't think the rich and middle class do that all that much. No, it's the people who can't afford to feed themselves and grew up in chaotic environments.

If states offered free vasectomies, free tubal ligation etc etc, it would reduce unwanted pregnancy too

I'd actually take that a step further and require it from some certain individuals.

Hell. if the state made it a crime punishable by 5 years in prison to get pregnant under 18, it would reduce teen births.

How is that going to help? It would just leave a child parentless for the first 5 years of his life, and thus basically ensure his path to destruction. Plus people older would still be having unwanted kids.

99% of the time, yes.

I have long been an advocate of either sex licenses or parenting licenses.
