I used to drink pretty heavily in the high school/college years and never blacked out. And I mean heavy.

I knew some that didnt drink at all; everyone who drank got pass out drunk at one or two points.....

didn’t suffer from it regardless of how much they drank.

I never truly black out. I always remember if someone mentioned something I did or said. I might not remember it if it was never brought up though.

The only time I was ever blackout drunk was a weekend I went to Tuscaloosa.
Had a HS friend at Bama, I drove over from Auburn and another friend came up from Mobile.
I remember going to the story to get booze and then the night is a blur. The next thing I know I was throwing up on a flowery bedspread and then climbed into the shower with my clothes on.

There was one occasion where I don’t remember anything past 12. I woke up in my bed the next day not remembering driving home.

Passing out from drinking isn’t the same as blacking out, though... you’re still functioning at the blackout state. You’re not raping people passed out.

I have blacked out more times than I can remember, as has pretty much every dude I know that had a decent social life.

I drank copious amounts of alcohol, but was always aware of what I was doing in the moment. Sure I woke up some days and didn’t remember everything instantly from the previous night, but that happens years later on nights where I don’t drink anything too.

I was filling in blanks all the way to my 30. Not going down depressingville but lost everything and now sober 5 years and happy. I was never going to be scj either. If that’s all they got for perjury I don’t think he’d ever make trial.

I had one that did not drink due to medical reasons....diabetes, however he knew where to get the best weed

Some of the best people, best family men etc were complete drunks in college. My fraternity had cliques that warred against each other for awhile. 10 years after college everybody gives everybody else the benefit of the doubt because we recognize we were big overgrown kids. 30 years after college all these drunks operate on people and own companies and preside over trials . This standard of BOY to MAN is universal across the world and Western Civilization has ALWAYS seen this time as a time where the process of maturity is occurring and passions rule.
That is right up until the time Phony Progressive Fundamentalists decided they needed a phony outrage to ruin a man eminently more accomplished and ethical than themselves. The Democrat Yearbook Police are literally deconstructing Fart references.

I keep seeing reactions to all this along the line of, "well, kids in high school and college are no longer going to be able to do ______ or _______ anymore because of this stuff."
It strikes me as the completely WRONG response to these type incendiary attempts to destroy normalcy and culture. Normal people who cherish western institutions and upbringing should all be shouting from the mountaintops that we will not change how we have always raised our kids and not apologize for the experiences (good and bad) that have taught us to be who we are (and who for ages, we have always wanted to be, for ourselves and our succeeding generations).
Stop giving in to this and in any way conceding to it as a valid point or criticism. I'm not.

I've never come close to blacking out. Same with all of my friends. However, we were from New Iberia and started drinking beer around age 6 so we knew how to handle it by HS.
