Guy has been out of government for awhile...so lobbying, board of director gigs, speaking gigs, and book deals.....yeah could see how he got to that number...probably could have banked more if he was a complete whore like Biden.

He had a lucrative speaking career. I was present at one of them. It was a very high dollar affair. A large convention with $1000 tickets and 20,000 attendees Id imagine.

Don't like Colin Powell any better than the rest, but he has written (or had someone write for him) 20 or more books. Even some modestly well known public figures make bank off of books.

In Powell's case, a $20 million security convention is paying for headlining speakers to sell tickets, not 30 minutes of wisdom. $100,000 would be cheap. He probably got more than that. People spend more than that on a fricking wedding.
