They already said they do not have them, but Comey's bud is alleged to have copies. Sue him.

I know this is probably a dumb question but ill ask anyway.
would filing a freedom of information inquiry grant them access to those memos if they do exist?

We were assured that such memos weren't classified, since they were leaked to Comey's pal, so I would like to see the rationale used if the FBI were to choose not to turn them over.

Sauces revealed a search of FBI equipment (computers, hard drives, etc) showed no trace of the supposed memo's. The actual existence of any "Comey/Trump memo" is doubtful, at least any written prior to his firing.
Comey was fired while literally across the country from his office. His office was searched and packed up without him having access to anything in the office. No memo's in possession of the FBI, no results of a search of FBI computer equipment.
If the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit! (As seen on CNN)

If they aren't classified, CNN should get them. I despise that network with a passion but if they want to do some real journalism for a change, I'm all for it.

They are suing for something that didn't exist until it was politically convenient. Whatever they get wont contradict what we already know.

So CNN acknowledges that the memos should be turned over due to FOIA laws, meaning they ARE federal records, not Comey's own personal diary notes.

They probably give comey a show to write the memos live and than post date them
