Vance isn’t going to get suburban women though.
No one was, which is why my original point wasn't about suburban women

Vance and the entire list were a 10fold upgrade over that scumbag Mike “sit the fence” and run to CNN every chance you get to whine about Trump - Pence.
I liked Youngkin but I’ll settle for Vance

Pence was Race Bannon for four years.

If tweet fails to load, click here. I still can't get over the fact that Trump has picked a neverTrump guy as his running mate. All of these posts and videos of JD Vance criticizing are out in the open, it's not like any of this was a secret. Might as well have chosen HHtM as his running mate.

Trump did better among suburban women in 2020.
He lost ground with suburban men, specifically suburban white men. In the rust belt that includes blue collar, union workers. They crossed the aisle in 2016 but returned home in 2020. Vance can definitely help win back a few from that demo, especially in PA and MI.

That's the hope. And I hope you're right

This, its also a middle finger to old guard Rino's. Not my top choice but he could have done a lot worse. I think Don Jr. had a lot of influence on the pick, he seems to have spent a lot of time with JD, he strikes me as someone that can pick up if someone is feeding them BS.

When did JDV write that text?

You are so monumentally bad at this.

Vance doesn't give me anti-Rino vibes at all, but maybe that's just his dull personality crowding other things out.

Youngkin (because of Va), DeSantis (because he could actually do the job of fixing DOJ/DHS), Vivek (because rhetorically there's nobody in his league), or maybe even the young guy from TX there's a thread right now - they'd have been more productive choices.
I would say it’s a head scratcher, but it’s a Trump pick. Maybe that’s what he’s looking for, someone who will not move the needle either way. Those above may have moved the needle the wrong way in his opinion.
I think Rubio was probably, in my opinion, the best pick just for the Hispanic angle and not someone who has many negatives

What an absolute moron Vance is, look at that message

RFK was the right choice. Unstoppable ticket

Man went from a hero of the libs for being a Never Trump moderate to one of his biggest advocates.
On one hand, I think it is admirable to reassess things and being willing to change your opinions. On the other, the man was basically repeating the same things you hear from the Dems about Trump 6-7 years ago. Is this guy just a shameless opportunist?

If Van Jones says he he “terrified” of pick, then it was the right one.

Then you don’t understand politics. He’s young, he’s articulate, and he speaks to Trump’s most import constituency—rust belt middle class voters that wavered from 2016-2020.
So why did he woefully underperform Rs in Ohio?
Posted on 7/15/24 at 2:54 pm to Bham4Tide
Just a note: Vance won his seat in OH by six points in 2022 while the Governor won by over 20 points. Trump won OH in 2020 by eight points. Vance is underperforming his own colleagues in his home state.

I think Trump only picked Vance because Vance has become a Thiel creature and Trump would like Thiel to bankroll his campaign.
