I just know we'll hear him call Trump Hitler in Dem ads every day from now until November.
"Don't take it from us, let his running mate tell you" will be a line.
Exactly.

I didn't want Trump at all for that very reason but here we are. Vance brings a lot to the table that people on this board won't be able to recognize. This pick isn't for you and he is nowhere close to being a neocon
Vance isn’t going to get suburban women though. I don’t think he will hurt or help Trump, which unfortunately is how Trump likes it.

JDV said this or am I reading your post wrong?

I'm not passionate about the Vance pick
But what opportunities were missed here? IMO all of the majorly-discussed guys were solid choices, although I don't think any of them were without risk or had incredible upside.

Hope you’re right. Trump was burned by several choices in his first term. No way I’d have picked anyone close to a NeverTrumper, but I ain’t doing the picking.
MAGA!

The melt about this pick is really weird. Trump's campaign is looking at numbers and trying to lock in swing states for the EC.
Are people not allowed to change their perspective of other people?

By the way, it’s an asset to have a VP candidate who changed their mind on Trump, and can explain why. Not a detriment.
I can agree with that one
JD is Trumps legacy pick, it isn’t about identity like picking a woman would have been

Youngkin (because of Va), DeSantis (because he could actually do the job of fixing DOJ/DHS), Vivek (because rhetorically there's nobody in his league), or maybe even the young guy from TX there's a thread right now - they'd have been more productive choices.

Josh Hawley could have brought the same experience and Midwest values without the Never Trump baggage. Maybe Josh was asked and he said no.

Vance has high appeal in the Midwest States that will determine this election.
Vance was the poorest performing GOP candidate in Ohio's election.

I love the pick. He is actually a very smart guy but has the look and personality of an average blue collar American

From a pure political calculation point of view not picking Youngkin is a missed opportunity compared to JD.

I guarantee Bergum would do better pulling voters in Wisconsin than Vance.

I have confidence that JD will campaign well for the team. He is smart and a good communicator.

According to the stupid video of him bashing Trump he did. Maybe it's doctored or not true.
I'm not gonna bitch about the pick any longer. Just had some concerns.

I thought Youngkin was a better safe pick.

Once the DeSantis ship sailed everyone else on the bench had question marks.

I'll take your word for who women have Daddy Dom fantasies about, but I'm surprised it's a nondescript tubby guy.
