And how do you know what motives reside at the bottom of this? Humor us - tell us what they want. And do you really think "willing buyers" are fully cognizant of what they're buying? Or if we sequester every one of "our idiot junkies and addicts" that it would all stop?

The cocaine coming up from Colombia to Mexico through Venezuela isn't nearly the threat that the fentanyl coming from China via Mexico is. But we're getting what we want from the Mexican government, namely compliance. We're not getting that from Maduro. That's why he's got to go.
Those drug runners aren't terrorists any more than the Sackler family are terrorists, they're people trying to get rich by committing unlawful acts. That's not terrorism.
The problem is that Trump supporters are so desperate for change that they just swallow whatever lies, mis-directions and deceptions the administration tells them.

Most of us are aware that presidents have had the power to do extrajudicial executions, for a very long time, so this shite isn't considered a big deal to us.
There are some people who either didn't know presidents have that ability, or they are just bitching because trump has that power... so they are pretending like it's the worst thing ever. The ones who are only bitching because they hate trump.. grow up. The ones who truly didn't know about presidents having the ability to do extrajudicial executions... the bubble you live in has failed to inform you. I pity you.

The problem with this narrative is that 80% of the fentanyl seized coming into the US between 2018 and 2024 was being transported by American citizens.

It's pretty obvious. They want money. Fentanyl is the high fructose corn syrup of drugs. It allows drug operations to deliver a cheaper high because the ingredient makes the drug so much more efficient. They can transport lower quantities for the same money.
Yeah, they know people will die, just like they know people will die from heroin if they don't spike it with fentanyl. But that's not why they do it, it's just an acceptable (to them, I mean) reality of selling the product they sell.
Now, none of that means that I particularly care that the US military blew a drug smuggling boat out of the water. But let's not buy into obvious rhetoric.
