Thank God we must burn this MAGA hat wearing kid at the stake or find a suitable safe space where his red hat with white lettering won't follow us around, the hat is daring me to get into his face and retreat from free speech.

What was this talk about bending the rules and proper decorum? Were they picking and choosing which hats to wear?
I can understand a hard "no hat" rule, but it sounded as if the teacher was allowing some hats but not MAGA/Trump hats.

Look, the kid is an a-hole. Plain and simple. And most high schools (most school systems) have a "no hat in the building" dress code. His attitude is absolutely "Look at me! Oh No, now you're looking at me and that makes me a victim!" mentality.
All that said... it's a damn shame so many people get their anuses so clenched up merely at the sight of a gawd damn hat.
Too many "in your face" mentalities. And waaaay too man, "Oh no, you're offending me." mentalities.
Everybody needs to just chill.

The first minute or two of conversation seemed to imply that the teacher was allowing some hats, just not his. He mentioned bending the rules and proper decorum, is that in reference to bending the rules so some students can wear hats because its "proper decorum" but his hat isn't allowed because its deemed not to be "proper decorum"?

My take was there is a rule that no hats are allowed.
The teacher brought up there are situations where bending the rules is appropriate or necessary. This part seemed to be missing some context in the overall discussion about some other sets of rules likely. He should have sent the kid to the office for wearing the hat against rules and not listening after being told to remove it instead of opening a discussion on proper rule following, racism, and provocation.

He was wearing the hat to trigger someone and it worked. He should have just taken it off and attached it to his bag. Then the teacher would not have had a legitimate argument about him wearing a hat when hats aren't allowed.
