Guess the 'ol boy is trying to stay relevant before the primaries...
Catholic News Agency
I think the document said any individual or group can ask for a blessing but that the Church isn't blessing a homosexual union. It's the proggie clergy and bigmouth laity with a platform who are taking the ambiguity and running with it.
Society may change, but God's law does not change.

Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie, once an opponent of same-sex marriage, said Thursday his views on the matter have shifted, citing the Vatican’s recent document on same-sex blessings as evidence that “even the Church is changing.”
“And so you know for me, it’s still, it was a process I had to go through to change the way I’ve been raised both from a family perspective and what my mother and father taught me and felt and also from a religious perspective and … what my Church taught me to believe,” Christie said at a town hall event in Epping, New Hampshire.
The former New Jersey governor continued: “[T]his past week or two Pope Francis is now allowing blessings of same-sex couples; even the Church is changing.”

Christie, who identifies as Catholic, said: “Society has changed and what people are accepting in our country now is different than when I was growing up, certainly than when I was your age. And you know I don’t have any objection to it any longer. In the end, I think I’ve been convinced.”

The effects of that lardass are strictly limited to his gravitational pull.

Embarrassing and blasphemy.

James 4:4 “ You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.”

Did he miss the Vatican coming out and say it was up to the Bishops and the Church's position on same sex marriage has not changed.

So he has absolutely no personal beliefs. Its all tied to acceptance of others.

We already know he's a grifting GOPe pig. He doesn't have to spell it out for us.

My Catholic friends on TD will be here to explain shortly why so many Catholics and non Catholics can’t understand the true meaning of the Pope’s proclamation

That seems to happen a lot with this guy. Which is weird. You'd think the guy would want to be clear as the head of a world wide religion. Darn language barrier...

Like I said in a previous post, the Pope is Joe Biden and the Catholic apologists are KJP always having to explain his words

I agree. Not an accident. Guy is a snake.

I'll give it a shot by reposting what I posted in one of the original posts about this. It's pretty irritating to see one of these "Catholic" politicians misrepresenting what the document said. But it seems to be an issue with everyone. Not because the document isn't clear, but because no one has read it. Instead, everyone just repeats the crap they hear everyone else say about it.
The pope did NOT change church teaching. The MSM completely misrepresented the document, and way too many people fell for it.
Here are a few points:
1. It spends a lot of time describing that marriage is between a man and a woman and the only moral expression of sexual love.
2. It explicitly says it can't bless same-sex unions and cites a 2021 document that says the Church can't bless sin.
3. It was written in context of German bishops (bunch o heretics) offering liturgical blessings to same-sex unions. This document says YOU CANT DO THAT. It then describes what you can do, which is a simple pastoral blessing of the individuals in the union that asks God to bless what is good and true in their lives but not what is sinful (ie their union). In other words, the Pope has rejected what the far-left German bishops were doing (which he would not have done if everyone on this board was right about him).
4. It explicitly says that a blessing cannot be interpreted as legitimization of their relationship.
5. It explicitly says that a blessing can't take place in a ceremonial fashion or in conjunction with a legal civil union.
Like I said, it's really a simple read. Go look yourself instead of listening to people fight about it. It is a little ambiguous in a couple of parts, and I see why some people get a little uneasy with it when they pair it with the notion that Francis is trying to change church teaching. But even then, it's very clear that he DID NOT change church teaching.
Finally, I'll say that all of my protestant friends on here should be glad this is the case. Like it or not, the Catholic Church holding the line on this is important to all of us.

You can’t change the word of the Lord for your own benefit.

The church can do what the hell it wants to do however the word of God doesn't. Judgment day is coming.

The way it's going, Islam is going to be the only religion left with sane people.

Christie may be the worst presidential candidate I’ve ever seen.
I’m trying to think of a worse one. I can’t.
