They're exports to us only rose by 1.5%. our exports to them went down 8.4%. so doesn't that mean they are selling more stuff to us than us to them?
Hasn't that always been the case?
Is that not the point?

Fun fact that 99% of US TP is manufactured right here in the USA.
Now gloves and a mask are probably Chinese made.

I assume you believe that our deficit and maybe even our debt will decrease over the next four years?

Does anyone have any reading on how the Chinese viewed Trump's second term and prepared for it? I've read some commentators say that the CCP thinks they can survive a full out trade war with the US. Looking for other readings on the situation. The drier and more boring the better.

Funny how time and mindset changes things when msm talking points batter the airways with bs. Maybe try and decide what actually happened in shutting down the country at the beginning of covid

What tariff war ?
Trump is simply reciprocating the tariffs already levied against the United States.
Fair is fair, right?!?

So we're taxing our own folks bc some other country did something dumb?

Trade deficits were bc of covid?

Mostly agree we desperately need to spend less money. I hope they cut ss and Medicare that’s where the real money is.

Part of this is probably due to the fact they knew it was coming and American importers filled their warehouses in advance.
Correct. You’ll probably see some crappy numbers coming up too due to Chinese New Year where they more or less shut down the country for a few weeks.
If we see numbers dropping in summer and early fall then we have something.

That's actually been true 100% of the time. Hopefully, PDJT has a plan up his sleeves but the odds are against him.

There are a few knuckleheads around here that have been yelling that "tariffs are bad, stupid". They just love getting the shaft from other countries... so very anti American.
