China bribed weak greedy US pols to destroy our industries with the farcical green horseshite and now the other shoe drops...our national security literally dependent on communist China's benevolence. You couldn't make this shite up if you tried.

Hope the money was worth it to our scumbag pols

Incorrect. I have called out Commie China multiple times on this board. I also called out Bessent for giving China multiple 90 day extensions and predicted this was going to happen and it did. Unfortunately for America, we have too many people like you who have been sticking their head in the sand for the last 20 years in regards to Commie China and have left us in this horrible predicament

And for this reason we should stop buying ANYTHING from China. Yes we will have to use them for the short term but the feds should offer huge incentives to companies who will build facilities and other infrastructure needed to stop needing to buy this stuff from China. Congress should pass legislation removing all the obstacles from the mining and processing of these materials to keep the environmentalists and liberal judges from slowing down this process.

China also controls the ingredients for many medicines and most antibiotics. That needs addressing as well.

We should produce all this stuff domestically.

Didn't we just sign an agreement with Ukraine? Time to settle that war and start digging.

We have possible rare earth sources in the US but we are unwilling to strip mine the way that is needed for them. I see China has the most but also the most willing to strip move for rare earth magnet alloys.
. Crazy there is not another option.

It really makes no sense for China to sell minerals to use that can be used to build jets and ships. If we’re going to end up in a war, it makes no sense for them to help us out. The US needs to find alternatives to the Chinese minerals domestically.

How does China control so much of rare earths?

Do these metals not exist in other countries or here in US to mine? Can we not build processing capacity here?

Seems this would be a wise investment for us right fricking now

It’s not all ice, and it’s not like it’s not possible even when there is ice.

Don't bring the responsibility down to the message board level. We have no impact on China/US strategery, nor is it our responsibility to secure sources of rare earth minerals.

BS. We vote for the politicians that put us in this predicament. Even after multiple times Neocon Globalist GOPe politicians like Romney, McCain, Bush took off their mask and showed they are no different than Liberal Neocon Globalist we still continue to elect them.

The US led the way in rare earth materials for years and gave it up to China in the 80's because of environmental issues.

We can bring it back, we just have to change a few rules, utilize new technology, and start building.

Just like the manufacturing base "we gave up" and abandoned to China.

The harsh truth is, we won't be ramping back up either our rare mineral output or re-building America's factories. American industrial independence has been purposely undermined and sabotaged by the globalists.

Seems like we would have secured a source or sources for these minerals and a way to refine them before starting this fight. I have to hope those in charge know what they're doing.
