Either via an escaped part of their biological weapons Arsenal

Via some animal that their people feel the need to eat or live by.
We must hold them accountable.
American companies that make their product in China should be publically shamed
Our pharmaceutical industry should be forced to give Congressional testimony as to why 95% of the US ‘s antibiotics and ingredients are made in China and why they apparently can not be made here. Honestly, as it relates to medicines and medical equipment, I am in favor of mandating that they be forced to make their products here as a matter of national security.
Manufacturing of all products, component parts, and ingredients must cease with the Chi coms

To line the pockets of the executives and international high finance, they could care less about the average American. Anyway they bought the democrat party to cover it up.

Well, obviously they have to make pharmaceuticals in China to keep them affordable...

dont kid yourself both parties have been bought. I believe we need to have some type of public work program to build new factories here in all major critical fields including steel, automobiles, medicine and lend them for use to private companies during peace time. It isnt just medicine that is important because during war if we have no domestic production we would be unable to restock military material destroyed. We have a lot of material now but if there were war between china they could much easily stock and restock material at a much faster rate and win a war of attrition. The whole reason we were so strong during and after ww2 was because of our oil and factory production.

This. It is shocking to think we haven’t already passed legislation requiring the production of medicine to remain within our borders. Trump should seize this opportunity to pass legislation to do so. And before anybody freaks the F out that it would require massive shortages, etc. - obviously there should be a transition timeline.

Forget "testimony". Simply pass a law that all drugs, dietary supplements, and medical devices used or sold in the United States must be manufactured in Japan, Canada, the United States, the EU, Russia, Israel, or Eastern Europe with ingredients and parts sourced from these countries.
Moving this from China to India or Vietnam isn't going to improve the situation at all.
Why do I not put an absolutist limit on allowing the use of things from other first world countries? In case they invent something we want to import.

While I agree with you on Chine, the much deadlier Spanish flu mutated from pigs, as have most influenzas. And over 100 years later that H1N1 strain can still be found in pigs

I have not picked it up yet but so far the comments have been really revealing and downright frightening about the pharm/drug industry.
If we were to get in a military conflict with China, we are screwed.
IDK how serious this COVID19 is but it has exposed a glaring weakness of our great nation, we are so dependent on China for many of vital goods.

I don't think telling the people that created policy that sold this country's manufacturing sector to a communist nation will productive.
