quote:

A 20-year veteran prosecutor quit the Cook County state’s attorney’s office and will move his family out of state over rising crime and the politicians who do nothing to stop it.

Jason Poje sent a blistering goodbye email to 85 colleagues that said: “After 20 years, I always kind of figured an email like this would start with “It is with a heavy heart that I leave…The truth is, I can’t get out of here fast enough.

quote:

The unavoidable consequences are what we are witnessing in real time, an increase in crime of all kinds, businesses and families pulling up stakes, and the bodies piling up; the whole time with a State’s Attorney who insists that there is nothing to see here, and if there is it must be someone else’s fault.

And then they wonder why they cannot retain experienced prosecutors or even hire new ones…it’s because any true prosecutor recognizes the importance of this balance, and that they will not be permitted to be a prosecutor under this administration.

I will not raise my son here. I am fortunate enough to have the means to escape, so my entire family is leaving the State of Illinois. I grew up here, my family and friends are here, and yet my own employer has turned it into a place from which I am no longer proud to be, and in which my son is not safe.

Of course, not until he secured his fat arse pension that likely spiked heavily in the last few years he was there.

Can’t bite the hand that feeds until your pension is secured.

I'm going to take a guess that he voted for every person responsible for that mess. That seems to often be the case.

Good for him... Some people don't want their society to sink to the depths of hell... They are not doing anyone any favors by not putting these criminals away.

Sure, play the game if those are the rules.

Lotta similarities seen in cities across the country. 1 party rule & it’s almost identical problems in all of them.

Wonder why?

What is sad is they are making no go zones out of some of our biggest cities and Americans are allowing shite bags to take over without a fight

The sooner a major American city completely collapses on itself the better. I think Chicago may be that city sooner than later. This summer should be a firestorm.

What do you recommend they do? The same cities you are speaking of literally arrest and prosecute people for protecting themselves. I think that has many people confused as to what their options are. We grew up in a country that generally followed the Constitution. That is no longer the case. Hard to say what line getting crossed will light the fuse but there is a growing sense of frustration in many parts of the country based on my travels.

The reason the “Crime rate is the lowest in 30 years” is due to the lack of prosecution and arrests.

Not the lack of crime.

This and also a poster added a while back that when a person is charged it is often downgraded to a misdemeanor. I believe it was Chicago that nearly two thirds of the carjackings were reduced to some misdemeanor or forceable entry of private property or some such nonsense, I forget the wording.

Same with illegals and why the crime stats are what they are, many prosecutors and liberal judges downgrade sentences to 364 days to avoid deportation.

Interesting study...Rudy in NY made the city great again and then they revert back and look at it now.

Here in Orlando (soros DA) our neighborhood just had multiple car break ins including both of mine in driveway. Police all but admitted there is basically no penalty even if caught.

I appreciate his concern for his family's safety.
