Were his wife and kids at the event today? Even more heartbreaking if they were. I wasn’t super familiar with him before today, but seeing pictures and videos with his wife and kids made me absolutely disgusted.

personally, my hope is that everyone just figure out a fricking way to treat others BETTER than they would want to be treated, but there are some shitheads amongst all races, all religions, all political parties, etc... there is no blameless group... we all just need to do better as a society going forward, meeting in the middle reasonably, and civilly, with respect and dignity extend towards each other....
Have progressives stop assaulting, barricading, calling in bomb threats, etc., when a conservative speaker comes to a campus.
Advance the, apparently, anti-progressive concept of open discussion and debate.
Start there and a majority of issues will be resolved.
Otherwise, this will continue to escalate and progressives will have no one to blame but themselves.

But it will never happen. The left can't debate. They can't engage, the only way they can win is to bludgeon the other side with emotion. They inspire their followers to do this on purpose. That's what the language is about.
The leftist platform is built on the idea that if you make your side feel like a victim, and everyone else an enemy, you'll have them as voters forever.
This is how they operate. They will not change.

This. Democrats are like Ford Pinto salesmen when it comes to the marketplace of ideas. Their product stinks. They have nothing worth selling. That is why they run on stupid phrases like "hope and change" and "I'm with her" rather than concrete policy.
