Cracker Barrell has been in a multi-year death spiral because of that demographic.
What demographic would that be?

The CEO's excuse of trying to attract a younger demo was BS from the start. Young people aren't going to CB
Then they are dead

Old people that want to eat bland food

If a restaurant serves you a mediocre Chicken Fried steak, you don't tell the manager to change the Logo and dining room and become queer-hip....you simply suggest they get a new Chef. Woke CEO, like all woke advocates has to reinvent the wheel because old wheel is old and therefore inherently bad and the old man on the sign is inherently a bigot.

I worked in the restaurant industry for a long time. I think I have a pretty good grasp of what brings people in the door. Cracker Barrel is a pretty niche market that appeals to a certain demographic of diners. You simply can’t make it into a more upscale casual dining experience without destroying the brand. You have to work with what got you there. Focus on better ingredients and better quality food. Give your employees uniform standards. Up your customer service standards. You can do all of those things without spending 700 million dollars. However, if you wish to spend a large sum of money, pour it into employee pay and health benefits or towards improving employee 401k options. Those types of things will attract a better class of employees that will ultimately improve the restaurants through better service and hospitality and a better quality product produced by the back of the house staff

i would want this to be the last thing a CEO says. Not too smart to openly state that the restaurant is failing. She could have just said we plan on updating the menu without trashing the company.

you should go ask for the CEO gig at CB when they run this twat off. You actually make sense, as opposed to her.

The people in this thread claiming Cracker Barrel’s demo are all elderly clearly haven’t been to the restaurants. The demo is actually very diverse in age groups. I see lots of families and younger people at the Cracker Barrel near my house.
The food quality has been my main complaint recently and why I don’t go as often.

Again, their company is dying because these people did not make that specific change (to CB). It's the same old people who remained loyal who are dying. That replacement generation never came. The CEO tried to create one, and likely failed at it.

Dumbass, it’s a public company. The stats relating to their customer demographics are there for you to look up if you want to. Of course, you can rely on your own stupid personal anecdote if you want to.

Cool. You’d make a great CEO. Tell your shareholders that you’re not going to take any action. You’re just going to hope in one hand and shite in the other and see which one fills up first. Brilliant.

Tell your shareholders that you’re not going to take any action.
The options here aren't just: 1. Cater to 20 year olds, 2. do nothing

Admittedly, it’s been quite a while since I’ve been to a CB, but when I used to go there the clientele ranged from old people, to middle aged people, to younger families and children. The whole lifespan was covered.
You think they sell toys, candy, and have puzzles on the tables for old people?

I’ve never been asked how old I was when I ate there or any restaurant. Also surveys are not accurate
