What “facts” do you have exactly?
Somehow you spend you time trying to blame the people for calling out this craziness instead of the person performing the crazy.
If I came to your door and threatened you to do X by a certain deadline, and if you didn’t, I would shoot you in the face—in said deadline you did not do what I wanted and my only recourse was to then extend the deadline—3-4 times.
Wouldn’t you think I was bluffing and not as tough as I have been claiming to be?
Why make these bold claims only to back down? The majority of men would considered that person fake.
No one is forcing crazy Trump to get on Twitter at 2am and make these bold proclamations that he has no intention of going through with.

As long as Iran has the capability to attack ships in the Strait, you keep bombing them till they no longer have that capacity.
The war is the Strait. It’s nothing else. And Iran somehow is still controlling it. Why we’ve allowed that I have no idea
Perhaps because as I suspect Iran is still capable of doing major damage to the Persian Gulf states as well as keep the Strait hostage. We may simply at this point be incapable of totally eliminating that threat through bombing alone.

Who cares if the strait remains closed? Only weak nations that thought "net zero" was something besides a marxist power grab.
What a great punishment for their lack of foresight.
As long as Iran can't sell their oil, they lose.

If the history of naval blockades effectiveness to starve a population into submission are any indication of how long this one will take.....it may take quite a while. Time the rest of the world doesnt have on their side.

No I seem like a rational man that believes in holding another man to their word.
I’ve never known anyone to respect a man that makes bold claims and promises only to then back down time and time again at the last minute.

It does, but not as much as other countries who actually depend on that oil.
I don't really care that much about the economy, i just don't want Iran to have nuclear weapons and building up infinity missiles and drones.
Israel eliminating Hamas and Hezbollah is also a great outcome.

No one cares about you and what you think to be honest
Im glad you confirmed i stated facts and the rest of your post was just a TDS rant

The calculus is that further economic degradation will foment internal strife.
The libertarians on this board have yet to give a single solution for how we solve the problem of Iran refusing the number 1 American demand: no enrichment.
Some of you are getting dangerously close to arguing that we should give iran some of what it wants in order to reopen the strait.
That’s bullshite. It rewards economic terrorism.
It’s time to rip off the bandaid and end the regime.

Would you take 3.67%? That sounds pretty good right now.

I don't even think it will necessarily come to this. The IRGC isn't being paid. Or, if they are, I don't know how and how much longer they can possibly be paid. Iran can't even determine who is leading their country.
What I feel like is most likely to happen is that the people and the regular army turn on the IRGC and they quickly lay down their arms.
You've got to stop taking propaganda at face value.
- The IRGC isn't paid and isn't being led.
- The IRGC is steadfast in the face of the American Military.
Which one of these, based on the actions of Iran, are more likely to be valid.

The American position is: Iran must abandon its nuclear program.
Iran keeps on refusing.
Why do you think we need to engage in a back and forth transaction?

We are all waiting on one of those facts you are claiming.

That probably means boots on the ground, and whether they're needed or not I don't think Trump has the stomach for it. Option B is to flail around until we can't take the pain, and that looks like the path we're on. We pull out, crazy Muslims are still in charge but we've depleted their military.
There's a very, very small chance this could work out well without a ground invasion. We could get lucky and all this chaos results in moderate leadership that's friendly to the US and the rest of the region. I suspect that's what everybody wants but it's not looking good.

While there certainly are Arabs who live in Iran, the majority of the population is Persian, including the majority of the members of the radical Muslim regime.

This is not true. I said after Trump ended the 12-Day War the only logical path forward was a ground invasion to facilitate strategic regime change in Iran. The calculus has never changed and won't change outside of some seemingly impossible scenario like the Likud Party losing power in Israel.
