Liars. Creeps. Lying creeps. Creepy liars.

quote:

A CBS News/YouGov poll released on Sunday that shows President Donald Trump leading Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden by just two points in Texas significantly oversampled Democrats.

Forty-eight percent of likely voters in Texas say they will vote for Trump, while 46 percent say they will vote for Biden, according to the poll.

Among the 1,140 likely voters identified as poll respondents, 417, or 36.6 percent, identified as Democrats; 410, or 35.9 percent, identified as Republicans; and 291, or 25.5 percent, identified as independents. The sample of likely voters was therefore basically Democrat +1.

The Cook Partisan Voter Index for the state of Texas, however, is Republican +8, which means the sample of 1,140 likely voters in the CBS/YouGov poll oversampled Democrats by a whopping nine percent.

I could have told you that. Still, glad the Dems are wasting money here.

That's not how that works. Lousiana is R+11 on the Cook index but there's way more registered Dems in Lousiana than Republicans.

The real answer is to go look at the 2016 data and see what the D/R/I split was.

i live in a small south Texas town that is roughly 75-80% Hispanic and I can tell you that among the rural Hispanic populous Trump has about 75-80% support. It will not be close in Texas.

Surprisingly it was 29D, 38R, and 33I so +9R. 2018 Texas Senate was 34D 38R, 27I. It's absurd to think that the electorate in Texas this year will be D+1.

I gave yet to see a Biden sign anywhere. Ny community is dotted with Trump signs, though. I have four in the back of my SUV that I just picked up for my neighbors.

Do you have a link for that? I believe you I was just looking for it and I'd like to have that site for my own benefit.

Texas doesn't require party affiliation to vote in a primary. So the only way to guess party affiliation is the Cook Index.

What does the primary have to do with the general election?
