Too liberal. He was falling into the Obama type trap. Was made to believe all would be well if he was more flexible.
As a human, I love him. As Pope, I hate him as he does not reflect true Catholics long held beliefs

Catholicism is a bastardization of the church that Jesus established. It's been corrupted from nearly inception by false prophets and pagan teachings. It's a religion for the lazy.

He is everything that is wrong with the Catholic church.
I've found it best to just be Christian, and ignore him, and his kind.

I'm suspect.
To opinionated on politics. Seems to have his head in the sand on issues that he lectures us on.

I'm with you on this. I despise every one of those people, and a few more to boot.

Catholic my whole life
He and Argentina are what Obama was/is currently to Chicago.
Gets in power does nothing but blames others. Has all the power and sitting on vasts amounts of money in the world and can't even make a change in his own country let alone the globe.

Exactly. I'm Christian, I follow Christ. A "denomination" means nothing

Catholic here, this Pope is definitely a NWO commie in regards to world politics. Not sure why the pope has a position on Climate change, libertarianism, etc.... but I do like his message on church matters (ex: reminding us we're all sinners, and we all need to repent).

I mean if you're going to link something at least pull it from the Catechism. The Hail Mary is asking for Mary's intercession to Christ.
All spelled out here:

Like him.
1) I just recognize that his geopolitical worldview is base on different experiences. In Latin America, juntas have traditionally persecuted the Church, so he doesn't trust the right. JP2 was from Europe where leftists have a history of persecuting the Church and thus was willing to ally himself with Reagan and Thatcher.
There's also a cultural difference - Latin American Catholics hold themselves to a stricter standard than those in the global north. There, you have long confessional lines and short Communion lines; in the US and Europe, it's the opposite. So when he discusses being more inclusive he's really advocating for what we already do.
2) Don't really rank Popes. And JP2 is the first one I remember anyway.
3) Popes are infallible only when speaking ex cathedra. Francis has never done that.
4) Not much. The teachings of the Church don't change with the Pope, so they're not going to impact my views or my day to day life.

Catholics don't pray to Mary.
What he means is that Catholics don't worship Mary. To pray is to ask. When we say the Hail Mary, or any other saintly prayer, we are asking for Mary to pray for us. Nothing more.
Every prayer to a saint is a prayer request on our behalf; very much the same as when you ask your preacher to pray for you.

One of life's scoreboards is net worth. It's not unimportant, and I think God wants us to be wealthy.
It's not as important as the other scoreboard however, and shouting at the top of my lungs that I'm Catholic, and going to church, have very little to do with how the final score is tallied.

Thanks to one and all for the honest input so far.
I wish I had included one other thing. I don't exactly know how to express this, because I don't have a real understanding of it. But, some people think that there may have been some "shenanigans" regarding how he became Pope. Also, and perhaps somewhat related, some people point out that he was a Jesuit. Again, I don't know what that's really supposed to imply, but these are two things that I occasionally hear about Pope Francis.

That's prayer. Calling it intercession doesn't change that.
Just face it, you follow a religion that has been morphing and absorbing pagan traditions since its inception. Christianity is simple. God isnt an a-hole, he didn't set out some elaborate plan to get to heaven. Just trust him and follow him, not some pope.

The framework of the Jesuit Order is built on social justice beliefs to a large extent. When you combine this with his Latin American upbringing you understand his perspective on things.
