Cassidy’s Governor run doesn’t make sense?

Why would Cassidy give up his U.S. Senate position to run for governor? Wouldn’t being a senator be more prestigious and worthwhile for him than being the governor. Huey long did the opposite, gave up his governorship for a senate seat. Was he rejected from the D.C. swamp and now outcasted where he wants out as senator?

Nobody wants him in DC... apparently someone told him people in LA like him (they lied).

My guess is, he has serious dirt on Landry and Nunguesser that will either convince them to sit out or Vitter them in the election.
He'll bank on people being so fed up with JBE(D) that he can win.

He IS a member of the swamp, as is JBE.
The swamp wants him to run so Louisiana will stay loyal to the edicts of the elites.
Whomever replaces him as senator will be “handled” by the DC elites once elected.
His running is about one thing, it is:

Unfortunately, I don’t doubt that he will win, but wouldn’t it be a downgrade to give up a federal senate seat for a governor position? Usually it’s the opposite.

This.
S'why my family and I will be moving to Mississippi within two or three years. We'd leave sooner but have quite a few loose ends to tie up.

Dominion worked so well in 2019 they think Cassidy can be replaced with a Democrat senator. Being a RINO he can continue JBE's work.

There are 50 governors, not 100, and Governor is an executive position. Frankly, I couldn't care less about his reasoning. I just hope he GTFO of the Senate. Hopefully Romney, Murkowski, and Sasse will run for Governor of their states too. Collins, macht nichts, because no replacement from Maine will be any better.

He doesn’t have to give up his Senate position to run. He will have to give it up if he wins.

He's probably stuffed his pockets with pensions from LSU, the hospital and the Senate. Testing the waters is all he's doing, but he may run because he's a user.

People keep asking this.
In DC, he’s 1 of 100. For you or me, that might be nice, but for him, he’s now been there, done that. And in a pretty nondescript way, other than pissing off a large bloc of his constituents.
In Louisiana, the recent legislative veto notwithstanding, the governor is a virtual dictator. And it’s been that way since the days of Iberville and Bienville.

Be careful what you wish for.
If 2020 taught us nothing else, it taught us that what governors do in their individual states can have national repurcusssions.

Not you.
That’s a state-by-state issue.

He wouldn't give it up unless he actually gets elected. There's really not much for him to lose.

It makes complete sense because La. uses the Dominium Voting System software.
The governorship will be stolen again unless La. throws out Dominium and adopts a safer voting system
