Not to bring logic into this discussion or weigh in on Cassidy's candidacy, but serving as an executive requires a different skill set than working to gain consensus/passage in a legislative body.

Cassidy is a threat to our democracy.
He does not believe in representative government.

It’s a free shot.
If he loses ( and he will), he remains a US Senator.
It doesn’t matter.
Jeff Landry beats ‘em all anyway.

That pussy doesn't belong in politics, period!

wouldn’t it be a downgrade to give up a federal senate seat for a governor position?
Governor has way much more power in the way of appointments, contracts, boards and commissions, etc, the things that make governance fun. Being a back bencher in one of a hundred doesn't compare. Unless you can do it the way Long did, be a Senator and control the governor.

When he said 'I'm considering a run for gov.'
What he really meant was:
'Let's see how many people come to me with money for a campaign.'
When they don't come up with enough money he'll announce that he won't run because 'I need to spend more time with my family.'

I believe if he runs he’ll do so to take votes away from someone else. No body splits votes like the LA GOP.

He better not bc I sure as hell won’t vote for him after he betrayed Trump
Honor Chode won with RINO support. So can Cassidy. Half the "conservatives" here voted for JBE because their feelings were hurt.

But who is voting for Cassidy at this point?
Every conservative in this state that I know, loathes the man.

The same republicans that voted for JBE will likely vote Cassidy.

We can already bet on Billy and Landry bloodying each other up. The Republicans are very slow learners
