Why do you view labor as an end, rather than a means to an end?
You want a world where the Chinese see their costs plummet due to AI massively cutting labor and input costs, and we in America are stuck in stagnation.
Labor is an *input*. It is a *resource*
It is the goal of every human and economy to produce good x using the least amount of inputs as possible

Musk and the tech lords:
“You’ll all (350 million people) be creating art and enjoying an abundance of resources in a life of leisure.”
The reality:
“We want to captain trillion dollar companies with almost no overhead.”

Don’t forget about the prostitutes, oldest profession in the world, although there are many companies working hard to create them.

I haven't listened to All In much the past year but have the past few episodes and they seem pretty delusional about how AI is going to lead to a different type of innovation.
Here is the thing...even if this was theoretically possible AND if we could avoid the Covid/Wall-E problem, there is going to be a distinct IQ cutoff for populations who can leverage AI into new ideas/products, and it's going to be a lot higher than they conceptualize.
Nobody has been able to effectively explain to me how we re-order society in this world or make UBI work, other than word souping it and relying on past paradigms and expecting things to follow suit again.

The fake news has them brainwashed to hate the Chinese
Remember how the fake news told us life was so bad in the Soviet Union then the Berlin Wall came down and we saw that beer was basically free over there and you could have a full auto ak and a pet bear and Americans were the ones really trapped inside the wall?
China is the same way but smoking cigs and shrimp fishing

I'm not so sure about doctors not being replaced by AI and robotics.
AI and robotics seem to be perfectly positioned to eliminate doctors of every stripe within the next 10-20 years. Maybe a few cream of the crop specialist survive a bit longer but the run of the mill general practitioners are right in the cross hairs of AI doctors, AI doctors with all the known medical data easily available to diagnosis every disease known to mankind. Look how often you go to the doctor's office today and it's a nurse practitioner vs a doctor, that shite was very uncommon just 30-40 years ago. When I go for my annual cardiologist visit it's now a nurse practitioner doing the checkup.....AI doctors are definitely coming.

If what Elon is saying is true and it becomes a reality then what he's really saying is money is not going to be viewed the same as it is currently. We'll likely see rapidly increasing debasement and those who are holding hard assets will fare better than those holding cash and certain paper investments.
