all those Tariff Ws stacking up and making you crazy huh?
It was always a game of musical chairs.
Canada had a great opportunity early, they could have been the first to make a deal.
Instead they started a hateful little game of nationalism and elbows up.
Just to win an election.
Now the chairs are almost all taken.
The music has stopped.
They arent going to get a chair.
If Mexico signs we are going to put Canada into the 3rd world and we wont feel a thing.

This really doesnt have anything to do with trade, religious beliefs, or MAGA.
This started before Trump took office and why Trudeau unexpectedly stepped down.
The US went to Canada (behind closes doors) and talked to them about some worrying trends in relation to north America defense. They responded by trying to ally 5eyes behind our back. Trump is just using trade as an excuse to bring them down.

Why are Americans such total morons?
They don't hide behind us, they fight along side of us. They don't have to invest a lot of money in defense, however, because no one is trying to kill them due to the fact that everybody likes Canadians. Who do you think they have to defend themselves against?

They are not dictatorial, they have not suckled at the teat of the American taxpayer, and they were right there with us at Normandy.
They'd be better off just joining us as a territory.

Plus the dudes at Normandy are dead and their grandkids are truckers who are being attacked by the Canadian government.
Trust me I love those Canadian truckers and their grandfathers

Your inability to understand modern geopolitics is another. Canada had no international threats to their state even when the US was not a hegemon except for the US just by virtue of Canada's location. No international power could even mount such an expedition except for the US.
The Canadians and the Brits have been unbelievably loyal allies to the US since Atlanticism became the predominant foreign policy measure for all three countries. It is nonsensical to suggest otherwise.

So they juat traveled to DC without pre-scheduled meetings just assuming US reps would make time for them on a whim?

Elbows up?

It means ready for a fight.
It comes from ice hockey, some players (in particular Gordie Howe) put up their elbows to fend off or lash out at attacking opponents.
quote:
Prime Minister Mark Carney’s slogan during the April federal election was “elbows up.” The hockey reference was intended as a pledge of defiance against tariffs and annexation threats from the United States.
I mean it's not death to America, but if you weren't aware they had a boycott of US goods going on.

No he didn't, he just regurgitated a bunch of juvenile bullshite. None of it is true.
Like the Europeans, the progressives within Canada, the ones that ultimately elected the Trudeau government are absolutely pretentious and think poorly of Americans.
The rural Canadians are great people.
The government of Canada is absolutely a dictatorial mess on par with the UK.
Speech crimes, among other legislation, should 100% be shunned by the western world, but they are instead embraced by the likes of countries like Canada.
This is the country of Justin Trudeau. Don’t get me started on the problems with Canada.

Canada has faced no international threats because they've always been right next door to the US and didn't have large retrievable oil reserves. Now they do have those retrievable reserves, and if the US is at some point in the future is unable to provide protection, they'll be vulnerable to any number of global predators fully capable of mounting such an expedition against a weak Canadian military.

I 100% agree…when those countries were more in line with the western political thought.
They are still allies, but as their political views shift to more “China-esque” in style, we should consistently revisit our relationship.

Seems like the US is doing a lot of work on that under this Trump administration when it comes to anything related to Israel.
