Honestly with the increase in life expectancy and our “greatest generation” population living longer than any other generation in human history, assisted suicide has economic benefits.
Some will downvote but it’s true.

Those numbers are astounding, and I am one who fully supports assisted suicides for terminal illness/end of live
There is a difference between allowing somebody to die peacefully and actively killing them
The latter is disgusting.

Sure, sure- not just for old folks though… think of all the permanently disabled children and young adults sucking up resources for decades to come while never being able to contribute.
And retirees? Useless.
Gracious, don’t even get me started on handout Queens… we could really spruce up society if we wanted to………….. be like Hitler.

Regardless, this is still a violation of the 6th commandment and should be condemned as such. Emotional appeals are not greater than the truth of God.
People shouldn’t have to ask your permission on how to deal with their suffering. Everyone should have a right to decide for themselves without judgement.

Not when it’s a taxpayer funded government run program.
You wanna decide for yourself? Suck a tailpipe.

I’ll bet you have.
In the long run it will save the system money.

Sure, Clark... this is my ghost typing.
If you're accusing me of something more salacious, well, you're welcome to ask my husband.

Quebec being of French origin may beat them to it.

In the long run it will save the system money.

What an innovative way to keep National Health Care costs down! Just kill the old and infirm !!
Could even use Gas Chambers, if more efficiency is required. Just tell the folks that it's a shower.

I'm not a proponent of these programs, and what appears to be their overuse, in Canada.
With that said, the US doesn't seem to handle end of life care very well either.

Agreed.
The below is my idea of "dignity in death"
quote:
Before the widespread medicalization of death in the mid-20th century, people handled illness and death through community-based care, where the dying process took place at home, surrounded by family, neighbors, and spiritual leaders. Death was treated as a natural, inevitable part of life rather than a failure of medical intervention.

My take on the Crucifixion? The Romans were happy to turn him loose, the austere religious scholars wanted him put to death.
Do you believe it was just because it was sanctioned by the government?

what'd you have?
Paradise Park by a local brewery Urban South. I knew I was going back to work so I got something I knew had a low alcohol content, but I barely drink anymore so I just wanted to get drunk and dance around for the rest of the day. That unfortunately did not happen.

Even the government washed their hands of it- they bent to the whims of the religious leaders and the excitement of the crowd. I would say that's not just, then again, it was appointed to happen- it's not an easy question to answer.

That sounds delightful- I hope it works out for you next time you try.
