What an absurd statement. It was a trade agreement with Canada and the US, there was no provision in the agreement to cross dock products from china.

Then you agree if we put 50% tariffs on chinese steel and aluminum cross docking in Canada, Canada should have no issue with it.

TBH, that is a bad faith move on Canada's part. Especially the steel. Chinese steel, if put into service because it was sold as Canadian steel, could fail catastrophically. Chinese steel does not have the tensile ratings and are disallowed in most US industries.

That restriction should have been negotiated by Trump.
He's supposed to be this great negotiator but left a gaping loophole open for Canada to exploit and then gets mad at the deal he negotiated and celebrated.

Canada didn't just roll over and is seeking other options
If Canada has better options, trading partners, etc, they should STFU and simply make those deals. That is not the equation. Canada, like the EU, had grown accustomed to asymmetrical trade regulations ... because ... like ... you know ... like ... the United States could "afford" it.
That ship has sailed.
