Maybe they will keep on a get a major Trucker strike . I wonder how many days with empty grocery shelves it would take for the government to cave . The people on the right need to start growing their own food . And working with local farmers to keep food on their tables .

Didn’t bitcoin stop itself by making a lot of people very poor?
Posted on 2/14/22 at 6:24 pm to PsychTiger
no
For a group of people that are very likely to not enjoy having a bank dictate where and to whom your funds are allowed to go from accounts the bank hosts, it never ceases to surprise me the levels of animosity to the best solution anyone has presented thus far in human history with an internationally distributed decentralized network that allows funds to be sent peer to peer and you can do so pseudonymously.
shite is right down this boards alley but half of the board are actively mocking it or seemingly rooting for it to fail.

What accounts can banks seize and why?
Posted on 2/14/22 at 6:35 pm to Crimson Wraith
You can’t seize Bitcoin on a cold wallet without finding out the seed phrase, which presumably you wouldn’t be able to get without use of force. Makes it a great deal harder than with banks where your assets are a phone call away from seizure by a hostile regime.

well please enlighten everyone as to how, exactly, they’d be able to stop the network from functioning or prevent access to the network from any individual.
I can go generate a new BTC wallet tonight and it isn’t even remotely difficult. I’ve got some mined BTC I could then send from that wallet to another wallet address peer to peer. It would confirm within ten minutes courtesy of one of the internationally dispersed miners and that would be that.

They have directed banks and financial institutions to freeze funds of any entity it believes is suspicious and given them legal immunity. It's very broad sweeping and can apply to any unapproved cause they want. They will seize all these peoples' bank accounts, no doubt.

I understand being cynical as a general rule but I don’t get mocking the best tool we’ve got right now in the face of tyrannical government regimes operating hand in hand with banks hosting peoples funds. I’m such an advocate because it’s the only real solution to removing the banks from the equation.

Because this is how you get mattresses stuffed with cash.

I believe the dept of the Treasury was concerned with the private usage of stable coins with a type of "bank run" effect. I could only imagine how concerned the Treasury would be internally, with a bank run on USD, if people decided to pull a bunch of cash from centralized banks, because they likely wouldn't be able to handle a very large percentage. I am not suggesting this btw.

No one is mocking anything
But you have no idea just like evryone else on what can happen with Bitcoin
Maybe Dan Pena is right about who created it
But Banks arent going anywhere
