I made no opinion of whether I agreed with tariffs or not. I simply pointed out that the poster didn’t understand how they work.

I'm getting very tired of this petulance from Canada. Canada needs the U.S far more than the U.S. needs Canada. We all know that. And the Canadian economy is not doing well currently.
Trump has been restrained in dealing with Canada's petulance. And Americans have been restrained while Canadians are all "elbows up".
Maybe it's time to remind Canadians that Americans can go "elbows up" as well. The way to bring Canada to it's knees is simple, a tit for tat system.
For example, any Canadian province takes an American item, such as wine, bourbon or beer, off their shelves, America responds by taking all Canadian alcohol off our shelves.
Canadians wants to put up signs pointing to a Canadian alternative for items, Americans do the same. Require all businesses to put signs in front of Canadian products routing them to alternative American made products.
It's time for the President and all Conservative outlets to create a full list of Canadian companies here in the U.S. and to provide American company alternatives.
Put the Canadian economy on it's knees. Heck I would love even a poster here to compile a list of Canadian companies here in the U.S. that we can boycott.

The U.S. could destroy Canada economically in a couple of months if we wanted to. Then we could go in and get what we need and want, because there would barely be a functioning Canadian government left.
Canada is not the country that has the leverage here. The U.S. has all the leverage, we just haven't truly used it yet.

No they haven't. The tariffs would kick in if US imports exceeded around 200% or better of quota which it has rarely ever done. Across the board if you look at tariff charges Canada rarely hits any of our imports with a tariff.....until now.

I agree with some of the recent criticisms of the WH, but I dont agree with this at all.
Carney is a straight up WEF plant.
-Canada is heavily in bed with China currently.
None of what they want is consistent with what MAGA/AF is trying to accomplish domestically and all of the people pulling strings on Canada want them to be separated from us economically and a deal is the last thing they want.
Im not at all surprised this has become contentious and I would much rather have it hashed out while Trump is still in office than to continue to let it fester.

At this point, we only have a deadbeat in Argentina as our friend who undercuts us on farm deals and begs us to take its contaminated beef while we guarantee their debt to to the IMF. Maybe the Japanese as well as we just went and bailed out the bond market.

I will give Carney this. He absolutely is not afraid to go toe to toe with Trump. If he has even a small measure of success, others will surely follow.
