Here’s a reasonable take which I think OPs article left out even though they quoted this analyst. Muh narrative!
quote:

But Charles Bradford of Bradford Research in New York suggested a possible explanation. He noted that an integrated plant such as one in Granite City is made of five or six parts. There’s a blast furnace, but there is also the production of pig iron, an intermediate product; the continuous caster, which creates large slabs; and the rolling mill, which flattens those slabs to a customer’s specifications.

quote:

“Usually I would consider that it is one mill,” he said. But it’s possible that Trump misunderstood — or that Burritt pitched it as separate entities, he said. But the facilities already existed; they are not “new.”

My take as someone who is not a cheerleader for either party.

Trump is a natural born salesman who's natural tendancy is to sugarcoat everything he says, after a lifetime of doing this he is not going to change.

While not a big fan of this I overlook it because he seems to be doing his level best for the country and it has been a looooooong time since I felt a US president had my intest as a priority.

Often just projecting a positive image and presenting everything with as positive a tone as possible leads to positive sentiment which can really help move things forward and is simply done for that reason and I simply choose to believe this is Trumps intention as he is not recieving any personal gain from this nor does he really seem concerned with advancing the aims of the R leadership.

While I do not call myself a Republican the childish antics of the Democrats over the last 18 months will make it very hard for me to ever vote D again, they are willing to tear down the entire country rather than admit defeat in an election, it just shows the venality of their party over country approach to doing business.

Maybe now our manufacturing industry making consumer goods can become less expensive to make. And our country's economy can become more cost-efficient trading with the rest of our other world countries today...Can we go back to making stuff cheaper now?

Most likely scenario: the CEO lied to him. Or perhaps to a staffer, who lied to him. Or perhaps a staffer made it up and lied to him.

As far as steel goes, it's pretty clear why a material critical to making weapons of war should not be imported from an enemy nation.

Trump makes stuff up and then pitches it. Sycophants want to believe anything he says and he knows it....such as "there is no nuclear threat from NK anymore". He just got a big pass on that dumb shite here.

So a single outside analyst, and a single employee make for this riveting evidence the POTUS is wrong?

And we do not know the question they were asked. Only the answer to some question.

So much for honest discussion.

Add to this, no one but the POTUS and his connections know where he got his info, his sources.

I like the implications here. Trump and his connections getting major info about a companies expansion before it's been disclosed to their shareholders

Or he could have liked himself.

Not sure why he is being given some ridiculous benefit of a doubt here.

Are you unhinged? Because he has literally done pretty much everything he promised he would do. Of course their have been hiccups and missteps but the fact is he is killing it for the honest hard working tax paying Americans he represents.

No. Unhinged would be irrationally supporting lies that are obviously lies.
