I have zero problem with him exaggerating. I never take politicians or businessmen at their word. He is both.
I wouldn't put it past him to say shite like that purposely to push US Steel to open more than what they told him. I would think he did have that conversation and he was told news of some plans and he is embellishing the number. I certainly don't trust a company spokesman. I have just never known C level executives to ever keep a spokesperson up to date on company plans unless there was a legal matter involved or a specific message they want delivered. I would be utterly shocked if US Steels spokesperson had one iota of knowledge on the boardroom plans the company is making.

They're going to do what makes sense for the company and their shareholders. They can't just open 6 steel mills on a whim. That's a major capital investment and there would need to be a significant increase in demand to justify that.
This isn't like putting another Subway in a strip mall

And it seems like it was absurd on here too. Fox News on the other hand does it’s fair share of crap reporting and you’ll find very few people sympathetic to them on here as they can shite on Trump for inconsequential stuff just as much as CNN at times.

I still don't get where this proof he made anything up exists.

But you have no idea what was said in the phone call. Could he have told Trump that the were bringing the 2 blast furnaces online and if demand is still high could possibly open 4 new facilities. 6 years is a long time. Trump hears it as 6 new facilities.
Just for kicks and giggles just to get a guage of your perception, which is worse? Giving people positive news, even if stretched a little (US Steel opening 6 new plants) or telling a whole energy sector that, as President, he will do everything within his power to put them out of business?
