Absolutely could. If they asked ONE tough question starting Monday it would go a LONG way to making people feel better. Normal middle of the road people don’t like conflict, they don’t like feeling unsettled. Only fringe people love conflict, love to see people at each other’s throats. And so, if you give the masses a little salve, they would go back to watching jeopardy and saints games.

As credible as fake Christians like: Paula White, Beth Moore, Southern Baptist Conference, Joel Osteen, Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar, TD Jakes, Todd White and Bill Johnson.
They will tickle ears (just like above false prophets and teachers) and find an audience who want their message.

I love the history of American newspapers. Before TV most middle sized towns had two daily newspapers. One leaned Dem and one leaned GOP. They both made money because intelligent people subscribed to both.
Big cities had dozens of papers so you got lots of perspectives. The vocabularies of those papers were much more complex than today. They were written for middle and upper class people. The lower class couldn't afford it or couldn't read.
There was a clear demarcation between news and editorials (later called 'opinion'). Before computers I used to go to the library to read microfiche of papers written in 1900. The stories were fascinating. A real example:
'Mary Jones of Long Island was arrested by police Tuesday for allowing her 5 year old daughter to sell apples on the stoop of their apartment building.'

OAN is more credible than any of them. It's exactly why they can't get traction in the mainstream.
Modern Americans are social media/reality TV junkies. Actual truth doesn't interest them at all, and they prefer outrageous lies and drama, and sensational reporting even if it's blatantly false.

The MSM is bought and controlled by wealthy radicals and foreign influences, they are doing exactly what they are paid to do and truth in reporting does not factor in, they have a daily, nationwide platform and will continue to do what they’re paid to do.
