Of course they CAN, the question is whether they WILL

It doesn't matter to me either way, but prostitution is not legal. Vitter didn't have an affair. He hired pros. Probably because he had to. I cannot imagine a less appealing dude.

Vitter would have been a horrible governor. Sure, he has corrupt enemies. But he also has no friends, whether corrupt or legitimate. His way of doing business would have completely stymied any attempt for him to sell his otherwise very good conservative bona fides to Louisiana voters who basically have a populist bent. Vitter would have been toxic for two terms, and could have even paved the way for a worse Democrat after the second term.

JBE is gone at the end of his term, and he will take the whole original Edwin Edwards posse with him (that are now stinking up our state politics - again).

You don't have to convince me. I agree with you. I don't feel sphisticated and moral voting for JBE, I just firmly believed then and still do now that Vitter would have SUCKED as governor. I will not vote for JBE again, and I cannot see most reliably populist, conservative Louisiana voters that Vitter alienated doing so either.

A crime is only a crime if the statute penalizing it is enforced. And besides prostitution is legal in a lot of places around the world is its high time the United States joined them.

Consenting adults doing consensual activity is not the business of the government and a court to flaw.

Uh frick no. He would've been the conservative reformer that this state still needs so badly and needs yesterday.

The same was said about Trump before he was elected and he never had any conservative bona fides to begin with.

Vitter is the one who forced the state legislature to enact term limits on itself and they fricking hate him for that and that's something you and I should be thankful to him for. Just imagine what he could've done as Governor if he got something like that accomplished.

That's not even close to a sure thing considering that JBE still has an approval rating north of 50% and if he indeed wins reelection, hopefully that will get you to reconsider the folly of voting against conservatives you agree with just because you don't like his attitude and lack of charisma.

And even if JBE does lose reelection, it will still take a long whole to clean up his mess before any positive reforms can be made and that's valuable time lost thanks to voters like you.

I vote for my policy interests that would I believe would best advance Louisiana and the health of my wallet, you voted against personal behavior that you didn't like.

If the GOP holds the house at midterms, which I think they do, no way he walks away from his leadership post in DC.

He has a legitimate shot to be the Speaker once Ryan steps away. Which would be huge for LA.

then he fricks with their football....OOOOHH NOOOOZ

And for all of their troubles, Louisiana is the only southern state that's currently losing population right now, has the highest sales taxes in the country with noting to show for it, and the oil and gas industry is staying well the frick away from the state while JBE's lawsuits are still ongoing.

There's a reason why Louisiana is the worst run state in the country.

I've always said that.

You can thank a democrat god-hero Edwin Edwards for that retarded bullshite.

He and his rotten corruption is a very major reason why Georgia and Texas has left us in the dust since the 70s.

Well yes, but let's be clear. The people voted for the constitution and all the many, many amendments to it.

John Kennedy is no different than any of the others. Endorsed John Kerry when he ran for president; now he's the Republican poster child.

Hard to trust any of these clowns. We all thought Bobby Jindal was the answer and look where we are now. I don't blame it on John Bel Edwards, I blame it on all these Jindal house/senate members who would not stand up to him when they should have and look where we are now.

Blanco left more surplus than anyone and Jindal got all the Katrina and other hurricane money. Our state should be flush right now but he had to show the rest of America what a great President he would be so he cooked the books and over half of the clowns in Baton Rouge now went along with it then.

I say run 'em all out.

If Kip switched parties and ran as a Republican focusing on business issues and some "grand vision for Louisiana", dude might actually win. That would be amazing. Let's hit up happy hour at Ivar's and ask him what he thinks of the idea

JBE will be re-elected though not by a large margin. Dr C. Green speaks well of our governor and wont be challenging JBE in 2019.

The revenue mess Jindal and his Republican legislature left will slowly be worked through.

I am hoping that JBE remains in office as the Legislature reapportions in 2021. We need a fair and compact redrawing of all our Congressional and Legislative districts and not the gerrymanders we now have.

Yeah I really don't get the love for Greene in this thread.

He's connected to JBE and not in a good way at all. Think he's friends with a lot of trial lawyers running superpacs for JBE.

He can't even control his own party in the statehouse as the black caucus whipped out their dicks and showed JBE who's boss.

If he can't control his own party, what hope does he have of being a successful governor?

You realize gerrymandering came to life in order to create democrat-led minority districts, right?

All the GOP did was steal the playbook.
